Anyone for a bit of Elvis?

i can't explain it mate

if you feel elvis, you feel it, if you don't you're dead in the soul

It's one of those if you have to explain I WON'T understand situations. They happen. Never was and never will be an Elvis fan. I like some of his stuff but that's it.

I is the Bill Hayley fan though, oh yeah!!

I R single welfare mother (sort of) AND I like Elvis. I was a bit mad about him when I was ten or so.

Youtube links are good, though - a free way of hearing the songs (you don't have to watch the video).

here's a confession - I used to prop up an album of his on the settee, and dance and sing to it, when i was about 7/8/9. his face. i was entranced. now i know it was probably marketing (his skin was gold :D), but i fell for it completely.

some men are beautiful, elvis was. and jeff buckley.

I had an odd 'thing' about his signature, for some reason, and tried to make mine more like his.

Two of my best friends and I sang 'Love Me Tender' for a holiday camp talent competition. We practiced for weeks, then came second to a sword-dancer. :(

It's all a bit Lilo and Stitch. :D

Apart from the usual family trauma and deaths and stuff, the only time I remember my mum crying was when Elvis died.

People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me
Are we too blind to see
Do we simply turn our heads
And look the other way

Wooden Heart is one of the earliest songs I remember.. I sang along to it even though the bits in German were nothing like what I was singing..

My mum was heartbroken when Elvis died..

Moosy den, moosey den,
Zoo noo state elaine ess out,
state elaine ess out,
zoo noo doon mein shats bleit steer..

lol.. My words.. not the songs..

suddenly got a whole new love for My Boy, Suspicion and his My Way - right until it goes all showbiz at the end (the versions on Hitstory).
Now they've gone and ruined it by going onto the laughing version of Are You Lonesome Tonight. it's great in it's own right, for all the wrong reasons but wrong after those three songs.
eta: Elvis' My Way is the first version I've liked apart from Sid Vicious'
