Anyone Ever Taken An Individual To Court For Repayment of A Loan?

wow...3.5k, was it worth it? and didnt you tell us, Yelkub, that this case cost the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of pounds?? Fuck me, theres a lot wrong with this world...

Well I'm glad it's over (providing she pays up). Shame it's not more and shame she's not getting an attachment to her earnings so at least some people can see a bit more than whatever line she chooses to spin but there you go.

I'd pay five new pounds to be a fly on her facebook wall.

yes, he shoulda written it off.
You really are a nasty cow. Try thinking before you jump in with both feet?

If you'd read the thread, you'd know it cost as much as it did because the court screwed it up. That's not Yelkcub's fault. And most people can't afford to write off £15 grand, even if you think they "should".

Cheesypoof one of the reasons he didn't write off the money was because she tried to manipulate him into doing so by making false accusations of domestic assault against him, accusing him of hurting his missus. Had he given up then it would have signalled to her that she could treat people appallingly and even involve the police with lies yet there would be no consequences to her.

It wasn't just about the money or how much Yelkcub got back it was about making sure she couldn't behave the way she did and hurt his family.

For clarity she accused me of harassment of her despite having had no contact with her whatsoever.

Not sure what Cheesy's issue with me is, but I've no reason to give a fuck so let her get on with it.

well, since this thread has started, you have believed 100% of every single word Yelkcub has said, and never for one second doubted any second of his testimony. Rightly or wrongly, you have a biased view in his favour.

i have nothing against you. I have read this thread and, like many Urbans, folllowed this story. Im not trying to be a wanker, i am saying that perhaps the judge thought you were out for your pound of flesh, and had reason not to deliver it? Did you actually lend her a full £15,000 clean whack or is this figure that you loaned disputed by her? While i harbour no ill will against you, i thought you initially said that she owed you a couple of grand,?? and that when you worked out the maths (adding interest...) it turned into much more money she owed you, over time?

TBF she does sound like a weirdo, and accused you of harassing her - okay while it might not be classic 'stalking' it does sound like you were on her case, with your Facebook spies, etc.

You don't know what I have and haven't believed on any Urban thread - including ones that you write.

Maybe you think it's ok to write off thousands of pounds because someone's gone back on a loan agreement, I don't.

Cheesy, lend me 15k please! :)

haha. Sounds bonkers to lend someone £15k, without some kind of legal understanding in the first place - hence me wondering whether that was the figure mutually agreed between the two of them. Anyway, g'luck to all and all that....

Legal understanding of what, formal loan agreements?

Yeah, not getting a lawyer involved was daft. I kinda think Yelkcub knows that now though.

Anyway, 15k isn't much, so why won't you lend it to me? Meanie.

I'm not sure how much difference a lawyer would have made really. He can obviously prove he lent her the money, and she could still have refused to pay. It would have ended the same way most likely.

I guess a lawyer would probably have told him not to lend it to her...

Several years after I last posted on this thread, it seems as though we at last have resolution!

I'm very glad that a judgement has been reached and at least some of the money is going back to Yelkie.

I hope in your mind, Yelkie, that it has been worth it after all!

Enjoy the cash, usefully or frivolously, whichever suits. :)
