Anyone else on here never been to a rave?

I wish I could think of somewhere to recommend all you people who've never been to a rave to go to (Im sure someone will be along in a bit), 'cos it's a great experience intimately connected to the sunrise and basslines, and somehow primordial and most uplifting.

I have.

Wish I hadden't though, what a load of old rubbish, I realised I had made a mistake as soon as I got there.

Had to wait around for fucking hours for my ride out.

GGGRRRRRrrrr.

The lighting and mist in the photo would suggest that it's early morning, which is the point at which everyone realises the following:

A) it's fucking freezing.

B) The drugs have just worn off.

C) it's about time to slink off back to the car/tent/whatever and grab and hour's sleep followed by a brew and some more drugs. Then get back to dancing.

I shagged this bird at czechtek!

The last one I went to was that alternative Glastonbury on an disused airfield near by, in 2002...

Smeatharpe? I was at that too. Was a good un.

Go with someone who goes is probably the best (and safest) advice.

We'll give you a shout for the next party down this way. The Welsh meet in a quarry somewhere.

I still go very occasionally, but after years of partying, I did find it was taking its toll on my mental / physical state, that aside, easter weekend promises to be a good 'un!

New years eve in the old WWII control bunker was a fun one though :)

Incidentally, for anyone who thinks I actually did shag that bird at czechtek, this is the original context (squatjuice)... skip to page 5... :D

Page 12 has some cool Futurama photoshops (that should also show you the decent free festis are definately alive and kicking).

also the 'I shagged this bird at czechtek' gallery.

Course this might put you off czechtek:

Worth it though (apparently - I wasn't actually there)

I've never been to a rave. Once went out for the day with someone who spent the whole time talking about a rave he was going to. Took me up to the place he was going to, talked about it but did not invite me. Wondered if he was making a point. Odd, but never see him now. Would like to go to one though.

I went into one once for about fifteen minutes; it was pretty mainstream, there at the Plaza of Nations. An organized rave in the middle of town.

I dropped my kid and friends off at a rave out in Chilliwack, about a hundred miles east of here. Driving down the freeway that night, I've never seen so many cars with 'new driver' signs in the back window, stalled in the center median.

The rave was in this rolling hill area between the mountains. They had green lazers set up so they played on the hilltops and mountains. It looked a hell of a lot better than the Plaza of Nations one.

I had to go back the next day to pick up the survivors. Lots of destroyed stragglers wandering around the back country roads and the general stores.

I'd like to have stayed, but we'd planned our own partying at home, so there you go.

ay, twas all good wholesome fun- vodka, cocaine and teargas for breakfast... lovely

the motorway sliproad raveup was quite amusing too

Nope - never been to one and I don't give a hoot.

Never taken pills, not because of the well-publicises fatalities, but because (in my personal experience) it turned some of my mates into narrow-minded wankers.

Yeah, both north and south.

last one i was at, it pissed it down and i went home very miserable, cold and wired. it was horrible, felt like cross country at school only much worse.

there's plenty of "real raves" zenie
