Anyone else Concerned by Irans Missile Test

I am worried about a military response, the effect that will have on our economy at a time of recession on the horizon.

Surely you're not more worried about the effect it will have on our economy than the effect a military response would have on the turning the lives of millions of innocent people living in the area turning into utter desparation, fear and misery?

eta: totally with Fuchs66 on this. Very curious/ concerned about Dravinian's opinion

Of course world events of this scale effect everyone its just that we few in the wealthy regions can deal with it a lot better and it comes over as extremely petty when people whinge about the "high costs" of fuel when at the sharp end of the problem people are dieing or living in misery. Like I said think about your priorities there are more important things in life than the price of a litre of fuel.

No I will not be lectured to because I wanted to discuss how things will effect my life...oh how dear i!

Don't be ridiculous, just because there is someone in the world worse off then me, doesn't me I am not allowed to discuss things in my life with other people effected by the same things.

There are more then enough threads banging on about the misery of some poor fucker somewhere, can we not have just one where we get to discuss other things?

You talk about priorities but you seem to expect us all to have just one priority.

So again, only allowed the one priority, only ever allowed to talk about one aspect and it has to be the most important or your priorities are all wrong.

So just endlessly talking about the most prioritised issue then, so back to thousands dead hten, who cares how it might effect petrol prices, priorties remember, and hwen that is over, then we can get on to the starving people, the oppressed people, health care? education? But people are dying, back on to those who habitat is being destroyed, then we can get on to those who are being exploited and living on just a dollar a month, transport? Pensions? No sorry, no time for them, too busy talking ONLY about all the people in the world worse off then us.

If your horses were any higher you would be gasping for breath.

Not bothered in the slightest. The only people who appear to be concerned are the so-called hawks and assorted militarists, their backers and the arms industry.

I find it quite interesting that in the face of mounting tension in the Middle East, which could lead to massive loss of life and an environmental catastrophy, people here seem to be more worried about the effect this will have on the price of fucking petrol!

Get a fucking bike and reorganise your priorities ffs

Exactly.
Shows clearly the success of the disconnect caused by their government's propaganda machine. All bloodshed is reduced to "collateral damage" = not human. I often wish the greedy ego-centric Westerners could be forced to stare day and night at the pictures and live footage of that collateral damage"..
Maybe, just maybe, a few of the mindless would develop consciousness.

salaam.

Why has UK and US not abided by the agreement to reduce Nuclear Weapons? USA especially has more than when it signed the NPT, and UK is planning Trident.

It has nothing to do with these events.

Your premise for this argument is that I have not prioritised since there are people worse off then me.

Which to YOU means that we can ONLY ever talk about the terrible human cost, and never discuss anything else for fear we be accussed of not caring enough.

My premise is, fuck off will ya. There are plenty of threads around talking about the human cost, there are plenty of thread discussing many aspects of how these events will effect our lives and this one happened to be another one that distilled it down to how an attack on Iran will increase petrol prices.

Did the thread claim that nothing else would happen? No of course not, but that didn't stop you and the rest of the high horse brigade getting straight on the saddle to whine on about how anyone can think of anything but the human cost.

This forum is now on "addressing the point" / "no personal attacks" lockdown, just as a reminder, since this is a thread that has moved from elsewhere I think. See elsewhere for what this means. Do not post about it.

I can't think of anything else. I have experience with "collateral damage", as it is called so disgustingly casual and denigrating. Very personal experience.

If anyone can post casually about wars, or "possible wars" or other kinds of attacks on nations (and read: humans living there) without me reminding them that it is all about bloodshed, dead and maiming, I'm brain dead. Or not around.

salaam.
