    Shindig Weekender - May 25th - 28th 2018

It's being pitched as a possible by one of my friends.

Some decent reviews out there although the logistics seem a bit haphazard. Mainly dj's as far as I can see but it sounds like a decent vibe. Its quite family friendly and the line-up this year is very 90's so I'm guessing its aimed at middle aged ravers who now have kids.

Know a few folks who went last year (mostly middle aged ravers) and they enjoyed it. We're condidering it this year

I've heard mixed things, I think its sorted itself out now, but a few years back it sounded like they pulled some pretty dodgy shit.

They ruined new years for a lot of peeps two years in a row by having their warehouse parties shut down, but largely cos they were semi legal and far to big. No experience of their latest incarnation.

I think its different, the shindig I think this is is having their 10 year anniversary this year.

Having moaned about other people's problems I did go to one really good party about 5 years ago. Two massive rigs in a huge warehouse near Enfield. I'm assuming it's the same people btw

Just seen the lineup and it does seem to be targeting ravers of an older generation. Its only Radioactive Man that really grabs me

  13. Is that not Shindig Nation, holding a warehouse party in March, who have nothing to do with the festival in May?

Anyone fancy sharing a bellend or yurt?

That's if I can get the time off...I'll find out later. ..

Aww no relation between them and this (or Shindig Nation) i don't think, but Shindig still puts on events every now and then in the toon (you were obviously before my time by a couple of years though - I went from 1997 onwards - used to be at the Riverside for the first couple of years I was there)

went a couple of years back, to work on the bar as i wanted to get a festival under my belt nice and early.

It was pretty decent! Really quite small, only like 2 or 3 tent stages, and a campsite, plus some food provisions. Music was good, lots of breaks and DnB etc. it had a fairly late license at least one of the nights, were the music went on until 4am I think. The sound was good and loud as well, I guess it being so small they don’t piss off as many people with noise as a big multi stage festival would.

The crowd seemed really safe, I think the middle aged raver thing with kids is probably a good description. But literally no wrong uns at all, everyone pretty jovial and barely any security snooping around or getting heavy handed.

In fact the more I think about it, the more im considering going this year! Id recommend it, tickets are quite reasonable too.

Yes sold out! But is still possible to get tickets in April as some people won't meet the payment plan option.

Well, I started this thread but won't be going. Combination of lack of interest from friends combined with a slew of pending childbirths.
