Anyone been to Moscow/St Petersburg??

It is good, but the place where I was at it was just some hodge podge wooden shed cabin type thing. I am sure in the cities there are more fancy/pretensious professional places, complete with hookers (not my cup of tea). You feel refreshed after it though. Alternate between extreme sweating with birch treatment and a cold shower two maybe three times- felt so good on that day!

It sounds the perefct thing to do after a long journey, that would definitely sort you out. I'm make sure I remember that when I get there! Not so sure about the hookers part though, not my cup of tea either but each to there own.

It's about 2.5 hours' flight from Moscow to Perm.

WTF are you doing in Perm for one day? Who's playing on Saturday in Moscow?

I'm djing over there. I'm playing in Perm on the Friday then a couple of gigs on Saturday back in Moscow.

By the way, what is that awful programme on in the monrings, can't remember which channel (Reklama?) where some woman interviews a guest with the most obvious product placement I have ever witnessed. She sits on a sofa pouring the guest tea into yellow mugs with Liptons printed on it, from a big yellow teapot with Liptons printed on it, using Liptons teabags, with (you guessed it) tabs on the teabags with Liptons printed on it. This is done without fail every morning with it all done in closeup. What shite.

Is Dom Dva still going? Plus the topical news programme Protokol was only worth watching for the fit woman that presents it. And the experience of waking up turning on the TV and finding the BBC's My Hero (with Ardal O'Hanlon wotshisname) sitcom being played. Kultura is a good channel for watching Soviet movies, plus you get that cool continuity thing on there at the beginning of every hour with the golden peacock clock from the Hermitage coming to life.

Hi JWH

Just got back yesterday. I played a new club in Moscow on Saturday called Moveton. It was ok, not as busy as my gig in Perm on Friday though. I played in front of 5000 people! Bit gutted thpough as again I wasn't there long enough to see anything. Hopefully gonna go back in the summer for a couple of weeks though!

You like it? I thought it was a bit pricy when I was there. And a lot of posers. But good music. Some lass called Alison Marks was playing there when I popped in in August. But appoximately a fiver for a Carlsberg is taking the piss. People I know in Russia find that kind of pricing horrendous, seen as they don't earn much more than £100 a month. So that makes places like Propaganda a bit elitist.

When I was there last I was just taken around about 5 clubs in Moscow and didn't have to pay for anything, so I had no idea of pricing. From and venue and music point of view it was great!

I'm trying to figure out who you are! :D

I don't doubt you played at this new club, but I now have a list of people who played there at the grand opening. Can't you even hint? :D

Ha ha.

My names Chris Rayner. I'm not a very famous dj, although I'm working on it! ;)

Tell your mate Pushkin* I liked Millionaire. Good luck with your music. :)

*not that he would give a fuck anyway :D

Don't know them all. The people I know in the capital simply can't afford to go out to some of the clubs and so have parties or whatever at flats instead. Some are just upmarket whorehouses I have been told. Places like Nightflight.

They're very varied: you can find clubs that are more expensive and exclusive than (I dunno - what's e&e in London?) China White, but there are also squat-type places. Lots of theme bars and restaurants, rock clubs, dance clubs, strip/lapdancing clubs, whatever. I've even been (unintentionally) to a rockabilly night at a club!

It was in the basement of Central House of Artists (TsDKh), by Gorky Park. It was a while ago, though. Couples got up and danced jive routines on the bar.

I've went to St Petersburg in July this year, if you PM me your email geminisnake I can send you a few pics if you want so you get a bit of an impression, plus I can tell you the places I liked. :)

Post up some more pics of female National Bolshevik members. I had a crap night at work, so need cheering up a bit.
