Anton du Beke in racist outburst

Now Bruce Forsyth has outed himself as a racist sympathizer .

Broocie mentors him. Have a look at old pics of Bruce and its uncanny the likeness. I actually know Tony, (and call him Tony in public to wind him up), and he....well, he's OK. He's a bit thoughtless and doesnt really think before he speaks, which is probably where he has come unstuck. He has this tendency to think he is being funny when he isnt.

And he has *awful* teeth for someone on TV. It doesnt show on TV for some reason, but they are really.....brown and kinda slimy.

Having said that though he is very affable and not up himself, and enjoys being recognised and is happy to chat to people. I once asked him if he would play along with something for me - my mother-in-law to be is a massive fan of his, so I got her to meet me for lunch one day, and tipped Tony off about it. When she came in the door I tipped him off, and he looked up from his paper and went 'Jill? JILL! - I havent seen you for such a long time - my god its so good to see you again.' Picked her up by the hand and danced her around the bar area. My to-be MIL almost wept with joy.

So, he's actually a nice guy, and willing to put himself out, but a bit tactless and thoughtless. Brucie should be working harder on that side of him as he wont make it in TV unless he gets the charm bit right.

meh

Doesn't anyone remember any of this crap from a previous season its pretty transparent if you ask me when you see some shows, not that I watch this stuff:hmm:, whether the media jumping in now will help change peoples views at home is the issue really or are they reading this and thinking its all PC nonsense I'm not so sure

but these stories have come up on other shows with a viewer vote.

as regards that specific issue, celebs who score well frequently end up in the dance off because the public don't vote for them. ftr, all six places in the dance off so far this series have been white or asian. this week it was rav wilding and lynda bellingham. I'm guessing rav is mixed race asian and lynda is white british. both placed mid table with the judges. meanwhile the afrocarribean contestants, and the other asian contestant have been safely through each week. (The other previous dance offers were martina hingis, richard dunwoody and craig kelly - all of whom are white.)

Have you read many of his posts? He really is that fucking stupid.:(
You pathetic, slimy hide-behind-the-bullies little shit :D If this 'talking through someone else' thing didn't say everything about your character I might be inclinded to parody, but what the hell else does anyone need to know!

what does repeatedly ignoring the points put you say about yours tho?

a simple 'okay, i made a mistake' would do, if you can't actually defend what you said.

"To be absolutely clear, the use of racially offensive language is never either funny or acceptable.

"However, there is a major difference between this and racist comments which are malicious in intent and, whilst I accept that we live in a world of extraordinary political correctness, we should keep things in perspective."
Everyone raise their arms in horror!

Another vital and vibrant story to entertain ourselves with.

Can we just get a new forum specifically to discuss the who-gives-a-shit hot topic of the day? Tedious z-lister makes crap remark and stroppy z-lister partner decides to make a big deal of it.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't be even more of thought-free knobkjockey than usual LC. Forysth hasnt exactly covered himself in glory with this nonsensical statement, but he's a senile duffer soon to die. What's your excuse?

yup, cos thats precisely what happened

Perhaps my local radio had it wrong. It told me that someone I had never heard of, off air, laughed at his dancing partner and said she 'looked like a paki' because she had so much fake tan on.

Wasn't that what happened?

Yeah he's a cock - but I don't think it's really defcon 1 stuff. Twats say stupid things all the time. Just sit in the average pub/office/shop and you will hear far more baffling and unpleasant stuff. Just using the word 'paki' to describe someone really doesn't warrant the attention it is getting tbf. It seems as if unless the whole world stands shoulder to shoulder and villifies this person forever amen then we are all ruined and the racialists have won.

You don't think people should be pulled up for making racist remarks, Idaho?

If a TV performer makes a racist remark while working on a TV show, he shouldn't be surprised to hear that remark discussed on the TV.

read the thread and you'll discover that you are quite wrong. Du Beke is a repeat offender, who's made a shallow, clearly insincere, apology. Repeated use of racially offensive language in any workplace is not acceptable. Just bacause the story is getting more attentin that it probably deserves doesn't mean a racist prick should be let off the hook as elsie would like.

I'm told it's best I add something: A couple of people I’ve had on ignore for some months are trying to talk to me in this particular thread. If I haven’t responded to you directly, that’ll be why. Here for entertainment and distraction folks, not internet warrior abuse.

Fwiw, I don’t use the board’s ignore function but a Firefox add on which is more comprehensive.

Late lunch, how nice > >>

Of course they should. People around them should say they are being out of order. But does it need to be front page news?

Ok - so apparently there is more to this than the news reported. He's generally a twat and makes racist comments a lot. In which case the people in his industry will know and he will lose out on work as generally it's a diverse industry.

I still remain fairly underwhelmed by it all.

Of course, in the scheme of things, it is very underwhelming. Regarding front page newsworthiness, have you ever glanced at the front pages of the tabloids?

If thats your problem complain to the relevant media outlets about their priorities being skewed.

Dont apologise, a la London (when it was nice and all white) Calling for racist twats.
