Much as I have come to dislike US policy on many fronts I find it hard to think this is anything other than nutters causing criminal damage.
What's next, damage to another milirary aircraft and the death of a pilot or even residents of a town it may crash on ?

No it's a crime and these people need a spell in prison to consider it so they are not followed by more cretins and a major incident.
