It doesn't. The "anti-Semitism" spiel is a "marker" of sorts, Levy (through "friends") marking out the fact that he's ready to throw big handfuls of shit around if necessary.

It won't be Levy, Blair or even Powell who gets thrown to the lions.
It'll be whichever sucker iss unfortunate enough not to be immunised by virtue of their proximity to the establishment.

So my personal theory is that Ruth Turner will in short order be "monstered", possibly by being found to be "untrustworthy" on an unrelated matter, thus undermining (at least in the eyes of the yellow press) her credibility.
