Ken Livingstone's friend, the eminent and learned Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi explains:

It’s noteworthy that the Prophet's saying "do not exceed the limit" means do not totally remove the clitoris.
Actually, Muslim countries differ over the issue of female circumcision; some countries sanction it whereas others do not. Anyhow, it is not obligatory, whoever finds it serving the interest of his daughters should do it, and I personally support this under the current circumstances in the modern world. But whoever chooses not to do it is not considered to have committed a sin for it is mainly meant to dignify women as held by scholars.”

So there you are. The splendidly progressive Dr Qaradawi says you don't have to have your daughter's clitoris chopped, but it's a good idea. It's recommended by the best of men, Old Mo... er, probably... but if you do it, make it a partial clitorectomy.

I'm actually pro-racist towards white people (I go around with my black & Asian skinhead mates chanting "Less rights for whites! Paint brown and black on the union jack! Lights OUT!"). If this kind of pro-racism is also anti-white then the only pro-white thing must be people who are neither pro-racist nor anti-racist, what would that be called? Neutralist? Raceapathetic?

I don't like the thought of any genital mutilation, but I don't understand why no-one is getting worked up about the ritual circumcision of male infants for religious reasons - you can't tell me that the babies want their privates cut [especially by non-medical professionals] but they don't have a choice, do they?
