Rich guys committing suicide: I guess it just goes to show that depression, emotional problems and psychological illness can afflict wealthy people, just like they do people who aren't wealthy.
He probably does honestly care about this TBH. That's the level of disconnection between people at that level of wealth and the rest of society. It's harder to buy a knighthood than a big yacht, it takes more effort even if the outlay is similar (if it is; I've never bought either).
You ever been to Monaco? A knighthood doesn't get you the best tables there, stolen billions are all that count.

Maybe it's just the experience of being denied something they want that they find so unpleasant.
Anyone can steal billions though to get knighted for doing it looks classy.
I guarantee that the poisonous little arsehole is fuming about it right now.
He should of course be breaking fucking rocks on an isolated Shetlands prison island. "Super-rich crook made slightly unhappy" is not the sort of resolution I support.
Royal Navy need the target practice and phil is a fucking pirate![]()

yes but in this case Green had the metaphorical letter of marque in the form of a knighthood. They don't hang their own piratesTraditional approach is to seize the pirate vessels and hang the scum form the yard arms.

threaten to take a pound of flesh - namely, his heart - and he'd soon shell out to rectify the situation.Quite. losing his knighthood is hardly a fitting punishment.
Can't he be made to pay the pensioners what they're owed out of his own extortionate fortune?

Or just be forced to pay back every penny back to every one he stole from or whos job his greed caused to go down the crapper.
