just spotted this one and was reminded of this thread. very nice bike, brixton bike co-op sell surlys... high starting bid though

surlys are great and the frame alone new would be near the starting price.

that bike probably cost 750-900 to build, if it's in the condition he says and goes for less than 6 you've got your moneys worth IMO.

eta: just noticed what he paid for it. bear in mind bicycle stuff is *much* cheaper in the US and has no VAT and shimano list prices have leapt 50% in 6 months so it would now cost lots more to build.

If I could justify another bike and lived anywhere near macclesfield I would have snapped that up.
