Another ballroom dancey dance thingy

Any photos from last time you two? What dances were performed? What did you wear?!

I couldnt get Mr Mel to go and I chickened out of going alone. My 'Flavia' outfit remains in the wardrobe. :(

Come along! I just wore a nice dress - well it was an opportunity to give it an airing

i might be up for going to this..as there is a dance class on offer(im new to this, it looks so fun tho)..do you need to come with a partner?

No partner is required though it's always nice of we can get a big gang together ensuring everyone is paired up. Last Monday I rotated between 3 ladies.

Show off!!! ;)

Prince Rhyus is an excellent dancer...

Aww :o

Boohoo and her sister were also very good themselves - there's a dancer in all of us! (They picked up the waltz, social foxtrot, cha cha and samba in 45 minutes, which is splendid stuff - esp as the stuff in the waltz normally takes a term to teach!)

Any final takers for Sunday's event?

hi prince, i plan to be there for the 3pm dance class..ill PM you my mobile number..hopefully we can meet up:)
look out for me ...ill be wearing a black dress and a green early 60s style coat and black frame glasses(have short blonde hair)

How did it go then?

Hmm...not really happening on the tottie count. A stunningly lovely acquaintance turned up - the kind of girl who parents would like their sons to marry. So had several good dances with her - and some with some of the guys there too.

The second set of demonstrations were brilliant - dancingwise as well as (for the audience concerned) given that they were of the same gender.

There was less of the

and more of the

as far as music went. And for some reason the teacher decided to teach bossa nova and merengue as part of the dances - which strictly speaking are not ballroom.

I also couldn't find Bearbot :(

Would happily go again, but outside of the familiar face who came a long, not much happening on my side. :(

Just a "heads up" for the summer everyone - and this one also has beginners crash courses:

The Broadwalk Ballroom - The Broadwalk, Regents Park
Saturday - 12th July
Saturday - 9th August
1pm - 2pm: Class for beginners
2pm - 6pm: Social dancing

http://www.dancealfresco.org/DatesTimes.html - I know it's like AGES away but if anyone is interested, they are great fun - if painful on your legs after a while!

hi prince..i was there but only for an hour, i couldnt stay long in the end cos i was double booked, i did look for you, didnt see anyone wearing sky blue, sorry...

the event drew a big crowd(most of whom made me feel young;)...i had 2 partners(one male and one female)both leaders who definately had experience which helped cos it was my first time EVER trying this:cool:and it was pretty good fun i have to say! i was laughing a lot and will consider taking some dance evening classes this month..there are loads to choose from
and some are starting soon..might try the one at hackney community college as its so cheap..
