Angels & Demons

Oh dear.

Really. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

I read the book of A&D having quite enjoyed the Da Vinci Code book in a silly, but fun sort of way. But it was almost the same plot as the Da Vinci Code but not as well done.

So you can imagine how the film version of this is going to fare before even seeing it. (I wanted to see Star Trek, but nooooo. Too geeky for the crowd I was with ).

Well, it lived up to all expectations in the magnitude of how shite it was.

It really was the biggest load of bollocks I have ever seen.

Piss poor.

:hmm: i thought it would be so didnt bother having read the Da Vinci Code then saw the shit film so didnt want to spoil A&D same way...shame really

I haven't read this book so I can't really comment on it directly. However I have read the Da Vinci Code, which I would certainly put in my top 10 worst books ever. So unless Mr. Brown has developed some kind of god-like genius between the writing of said novels I shall be giving it a wide berth.

However I would suggest that any book that gets someone who doesn't normally read to do so is a positive thing, even if the book itself is a pile of populist shite.

If for only one out of every ten of those people it is the beginning of realising that reading and books can be a wonderful thing to have in your life then I'm happy to let Dan Brown and his ridiculous/unimaginative plot lines and grammar exist.

:)
