And Doctor Who's new assistant is...........

Only seen her in Bionic, where Sackhoff acted the pants off her (no surprise there really) and was pretty indifferent towards her.

Maybe we should start nominating who we'd like.

They might go for an unknown again though.

They need someone a bit less 'pretty' than the new doctor's going to be - also, someone who can be a strong enough character to be with Tennant and then carry on over to Smith.

Wasn't her fault - it was just badly written and executed. I thought she did pretty well with a dull, under-written character that the writers seemed to like a lot less than the "evil" bionic woman Katee Sackhoff played. Her American accent was passable too.

And, please understand, I'm not saying any of this because I think she's gorgeous... :)

She's the only reason I endured watching a couple of episodes from the godawful Bionicle Woman remake, and I remember telling a friend of mine to never suggest me a movie (Cashback) where someone dumps a character played by her. And before anyone says anything, yes, I do feel very ashamed of myself for these two :o

The next companion should, plainly, be Stephanie Leonidas:

She's got a hell of a track record; she basically carried MirrorMask all by herself, and that's a Gaiman-scripted fantasy that's 90% greenscreen. She was in that BBC Dracula a couple of years ago with Sophia Myles and Marc Warren, so she's working in the same circles as the Who guest stars. And she looks like this:

Either her, or bring back Jenny, pair her up with a bloke-who-fancies-Jenny, and let Matt Smith play the Overprotective Dad: "Keep your hands off my daughter or I'll murder you..." :D

Now I'm confused. Is Michelle Ryan going to be in it at all?

And please tell me Lee Evans is going nowhere near this. Please.

Let me go on record as saying that I think stuffing Dr Who with all kinds of barrel scrapping D-list celebs, just for headlines like, is a GREAT IDEA.

Seriously, it will boost the franchise into ORBIT.

Er, both of them have been in the series already. I know that's not really a barrier - so was Freema before she was cast as Martha - but Freema was an unknown actress in a minor role, and both of them were quite prominent.

any actual new assistant will have to be a complete unknown, or they'll risk overshadowing the good Doctor, which would never do

Freema Agyeman is set to return to Doctor Who.

Good news for Stigmata- Freema's back!

The actress will reprise her role as Martha Jones in the fours specials marking David Tennant's final appearance as the Time Lord.

Scarily, the same article says that Martin Clunes was almost the new Doctor but mugged himself up by asking for too much money.

Here's to greed eh?! :)
