Anarchist Bookfair 2009

shit, i wish i'd gone to that. 'anarcho feminists' were nut-jobs 25 years ago and sounds like they haven't changed much since then.

still, i did get a nice button badge off their stall with the words 'lesbian action' on it. something i am most in favour of :)
From what I saw of the last 15/20 minutes or so their were some good contributions.
Some of the male sex workers were pissed off because they didn't get a resonable chance to contribute enough.

the butch dyke chairing was definitely a character, however the way she talked to 'certain' people definitelt lacked objectivity.

actually, as i recall, back in the day, none of the ECP were actually prozzies. they were just a bunch of dippy cows who took on this mantle, just as you used to get 'political lesbians' who adopted this as a radical label, whilst being in relationships/marriages with men and never actually bumping puss.

in around 1982/83 their big action was when the ECP squatted a church in Kings Cross , ostensibly to provide a drop in centre for the working women who did business in the area, holding press conferences and attracting lots of media attention. the result being that the prostitutes who worked the streets in the area, and had done so for years with a fairly hands-off approach from the old bill, had to go further afield to more dangerous and risky areas, where one was shortly after murdered.

Right On, Sister.

Didn't they usedto be Wages For Housework or something.
Remember having to ring them up around CSA campaign once and been put on hold for about 40 minutes plus to speak to a male advisor, just to get some leaflets, pamphlets & other similar paraphanalia.

Bit eccentric!
