An vaguely interesting dilemma..

Quite! What's wrong with being honest and going "I've just spent £40 on some gig tickets and, quite frankly, don't want to waste this money"? I'm sure they'd all do the same if they were going to see New Order.

Doesn't matter really - you still look lame for pulling out :)

Trashpony - he'll never learn if we do it for him.

This is true. However, as I frequently edit accountants' writing, I can assure you that this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. :D

Sorry mate, I've spent 40 quid on some gig tickets, and frankly cant be arsed to waste 2 hours sitting around talking shite with you guys.

Yo you Fuckers!

:)

That better?

:D you forgot to mention that, in future, you might want to spend time with them, talking shite!

But I'm liking this honest approach of yours much better!

It's ok - but I'm really not too sure about the positioning of "Yo you fuckers"

"Yo" is a greeting Hollis - I'd put it at the start :)

Yeah Griff.. I appreciate the honesty in your draft.. but I still think my slimey draft 3 version, is possibly more likely to keep 'em keen. :)

MY slimey draft version 3! Some acknowledgement of my hard work wouldn't go amiss

Many thanks for your kind and thoughtful assistance.. :) :)

The email has now been sent, err, and I ain't checking me inbox.. :o

That's not closure, Hollis.

Closure would be a return email, accepting your feeble excuse and no doubt furnishing you with some equally limp formality such as "we look forward to meeting you at a more convenient date".

Thereby bringing this farce to an end.

As it stands the situation is still wide open with no notion of how they will take your U-turn.

You have provided us with more of an "update" :)

Who knows.. maybe this is as close as we're going to get on closure with this one.. :( Quite often life ends up but a tangle of loose ends. :(

Don't you think your use of *interested* twice in such close proximity makes you look as if you have no imagination or flair for language?
:D :D
He's an accountant! Of course every language other than numbers is a foreign language to him!

I could.. but I don't like bullshitting.. and err, I think they may have mentioned the date before I bought the ticket. :o Ho hum..

Err.. New Order.
I think for the long term, you'd get more out of going to the meeting. Plus, New Order may have been good back in the 80's, but their appeal has long gone if you ask me...

I'm afraid its all history now.

Well, well, well...for the interested..

I just been asked to go along to their next meeting.. so there you go!
