I am sure the ruling elite and STWC are positively quaking in there boots.

i am sure you are right. but that is not a good thing .. the establishment is not quaking but at least Class War have the get up and go to try to get something going Bash the Rich Foxtons and now this .. thats quite a comeback no?

There was never going to be any mass campaign of direct action against the war, not enough people were up for it to make it viable.

Not that the StWC helped matters, but putting all the blame on them is little more than an easy get out.

A) How do you know? Just cos there was no attempt to encourage it doesn't mean it couldn't have happened. From what I saw there were plenty of people who wanted to protest, who made their own propaganda and so on, on that large demo. The problem was there was nothing to encourage autonomy:D:hmm:

B) Also, your ultra leftism doesn't see where inroads can be made into the Trots.

We were on the march on Saturday. Was somewhat boring and 'worthy speech' dominated at the start, but then we found the King Blues ( band with soundsystem) which livened things up a bit. Beats ranty formulaic sloganeering through megaphones anyway. We didn't make it as far as B though ;) , we flaked off to the pub just after Westminster Bridge :p

Oh the irony

What's ironic about it? Am I missing the substance here? Does PK have a damn good plan for engaging the public that I've missed? Or are you saying that I have no substance? In which case you'd do me the decency of having a proper go at me with at least some, well, substance to the argument.

did Foxton's get bashed?
were it's operations impeded in anyway?

or did a couple of students make a fancy banner and mill about on upper street for a bit.

I have no problem with the latter, but to call it 'bash the rich foxtons' is a bit silly.

I'm inclined to agree with this. As I said earlier in the thread, the campaign against the war probably went as far as it was ever going to for precisely those sort of reasons.

The anti-war movement would be in a lot ruder health if people learned to take actions based on their on their own initiave and said a big FOAD to the SWP (and other groups with similarly harmful agendas).
