An American Werewolf in London

that film shat me up when i were younger. the nightmare sequences are terrifying!

After seeing it at the pictures and this thread i bought myself this, but not sure what i will do with it

I listened to a podcast with Neil Marshall and he said he attended a screening of it in Leicester Square and John Landis gave a live directors commentary.

I can think of few events I'd rather go to.

Also, reading back through the thread thankfully the remake never happened.

I do indeed now eat meat :D You cook the main, I'll bring dessert. And then we'll go out and get completely twatted.
Orang Utan we never did this :D  and now I'm in London and you're in the north. Re-plan?

I think my best mate went to that, she sent me a pic of Landis afterwards, about a foot away from her, with some sort of incomprehensible excited caption :D

Landis is a flipping genius imho. I don't think he gets his full "propers" cos his films are mostly comedy or have comedy elements.
American Werewolf and Trading Places are the only two films of his I love. Kentucky Fried Movie is often very funny but it's more of an Abrahams, Zucker & Zucker film. The rest range from passable to rubbish. American Werewolf is one of my most rewatched films though, its combination of comedy and horror and they way both play off each other, has never been equalled.

Blues Brothers is also unmatched - thats three big scores

Coming to America was basically good
(i liked Amazon Women ON The Moon as a kid)

I completely love The Blues Brothers. Me and me pals used to watch it every Thursday night when at school. I still watch it probably once a year. It holds a very special place on my heart.

We then moved on to Animal House which again I loved. However, I will not watch it again now as I'm fairly certain its now "problematic", so will leave it in the past. A shame cos there's precious little Belushi about.

Coming to America again is brilliant as is Thriller.
For some reason I've never seen the Three Amigos.

I will acknowledge he directed the worst film I've ever seen- Blues Brothers 2000
But maybe this is cos I adore the original.

I love Animal House (another one of my teenage obsessions) but yes, there's plenty about it that makes me wince these days :( which is a shame, as there's plenty of utterly stupid stuff about it that I still love.
