The girl can sing there's no doubt about that but i'm not a fan of her or her music.

I just love the contrast though

First album cover and she's all happy and smiley with dog in tow.

Then it's all dark and moody.

It's as if she was told to be a tortured artist for the next album so she can sell more records instead of fading into obscurity.

well, that's sort of what did happen, wsn't it? new stylist hence make-over etc. Funnily enough, between albums her management told her to gt a job in Rokit on Camden High st cos it would give her some cred. She's a nice enough girl who is maybe not the brightest and despite her stage-school savvy, and tabloid courting she is now being manipulated by the industry/press to an extent i cant imagine she ever envisaged.

I find it so strange that famous people who are fucked up and have all the access to quality rehab, therapy and all the rest of it get all the sympathy in the world and yet the average smack head/alky/mentally ill whatever, get shunned by society and left to fucking rot when they're the ones who need the most help.

I woke up to that waste-of-licence-fee Victoria Derbyshire on Five Live talking to Blake's parents; seems the whole show this morning is about Amy/addiction.
Not sure what to think about Amy Winehouse but I'm off to give Derbyshire some shit on the 5 Live board though it seems she's already getting it plenty.
Was just way more crass than commercial local radio.
Derbsyhore does an apparently concerned and sympathetic tone to talk to Blake Thingy's parents and then, bang on comes the news and they lift one line from the whole thing saying the parents suggest it's time to boycott Amy Winehouse records which isn't what they said really.

Yeah!!That Liverpool bloke that equated drug abuse to pedophiles was totally out of order. How can you compare a person abusing themselves to that heinous activity is beyond me and Victoria didn't even pull him up on that utterly idiotic statement.

heard someone make what sounded like a valid point about alcoholism and she just said something like alcohol is legal and cocaine/heroin isn't and went to the next caller; similalrly someone tried to bring up the issue of ordianry people who are addicted to substances getting some help and she wiped them away too

5 Live is suuposed to be a news and sport station; this is just a cross between The Sun and Jeremy Kyle and I don't know why the BBC has this shite on...should just be a sports station imo and let radio 4 handle current affairs

Can't quite believe how some idiots are actually linking differing record covers to behaviour in an individual. Well I can believe it because some people are just stupid cunts.

Back to Black is a wonderful record, it's like Martha and the Vandellas written by John Cale. It's individual in that respect IYSWIM. I don't really care if it's retro, it's a great record that's sold very well and that's pleasing.

If Amy wants to live a hedonistic lifestyle then fair play, I certainly would in her position although there'd be less blood and horse probably, and more brandy.
