Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm are the ones that spring most obviously to mind. CYE especially, because I think it has a lot of Britishness to it in the way Larry is entombed in the catastrophies he creates himself, a la Ted, Partridge, Fawlty, etc.

I like Big Bang Theory and Two and Half Men for the current situation comedy run.
For recent movies I liked Enchanted (a spoof of Disney movies) and Superbad (a teen angst comedy). There is a scene in Enchanted where the princess calls for all the forest creatures to come and clean the apartment she is staying in. Unfortunately, she's doing this in the middle of NYC. The animals that show up are typical NYC animals: cockroaches, pigeons, rats.....
Most of the Brits I know like The Big Lebowski.
