American Dad

i found american dad to be.... meh...

i thought family guy is worth watching once but is noting to write home about... i mean i'll laugh ... but i'd never buy the dvd

downloaded the first season to se if i misjudged the show...

so far... (episode 13)

i laughed about twice.... one at the homoerotic god pictures and one at patrick stewart singing "i love little girls" the rest is pants...

it just... isn't edgy enough to be really edge... isn't surreal enough to be properly sureal not geeky enough to be proper geeky..

it is just all round mediocrity ... at least family guy just all the way on it's jokes... this just seems watered down ...

wtf?

futurama shits all over american dad

and not normal shit either... really nasty green diarrhoea type shit

Futurama is boring (well apart from the episodes that focus mainly on Bender, who is without doubt the only reason to watch the show), sorry but I've seen all four seasons and that's just my opinion. All the geeky sci-fi references in the world doesn't add up to much...

i can understand not going for the sci-fi angle... but even with out that it's obvious that futurama is much better written with far better characters (even if they make you laugh you can tell that all the american dad characters are about as two dimensional as their animation)

i really don't see how you could class futurama stories boring but like the pathetic antics in american dad

american dad is just pants.... i watched the full first season and the only time i really laughed was the homoerotic god calender

ok i admit that a lot of this is just personal taste.... but i do stick to the point that even if you find AD funnier futurama is far better written

I think AD is better observed, the politics and criticisms of the US I identify with and it just has more on its own rather than relying on references to carry fairly mundane characters through boring plots; I'm not looking for Shakespearean writing in any of these cartoons!

So season 2 is out on DVD in the UK today and I'm delighted.
With all this rain I certainly don't plan on going out to enjoy my bank holiday. I've got my popcorn, beer and DVDs. Perfect.
