Mrs Magpie
On a bit of break...
Yes but I can think of at least 20 places locally that sells Scotch Bonnets. We don't subsist on beef and spuds anymore.

I was always too frightened to taste it. I bought some American cheese once to see what it was like. It was horrid.
Mrs Magpie said:I can get good aged Canadian Cheddar here already. Very nice it is too.
Johnny Canuck2 said:No: it's delish.
I like it with crusty bread and pickle, or melted on toast.Johnny Canuck2 said:That's good.
toggle said:i think i would prefer a few chunks of that good canadian chedder. it is rather nice. imo, it's better than several other imported chedders we can get here

This is the most appalling thing I have ever read on suburban. Even worse than tales of cat puke or vermin infestation.ChrisFilter said:America, Canada, Australia, etc are all a bit held back by unpasteurised cheese being illegal.. doesn't help!

That's just something that happens every now and then...you can't eat unpasteurised cheese there EVER!fat hamster said:<sulks>![]()
I did try it. To me it tasted like cheese flavoured plastic. Yuck!Johnny Canuck2 said:Oh, go ahead and try it. It won't kill you, and it only costs $2.50.
Mrs Magpie said:If health is such a concern why are they selling American 'cheese'?

I was going to offer to tell you about treating my infected rabbit...but I guess even that only lasted a few months...Mrs Magpie said:That's just something that happens every now and then...you can't eat unpasteurised cheese there EVER!

Mrs Magpie said:I'm serious toggle. I bet the cumulative affect of fat and salt (I'm scared to imagine what else is in it) in American 'cheese' causes more health problems than the remote possibility of unfriendly bacteria in unpasteurised cheese.
Melted cheese is great. Especially over raw onions on toast.
Johnny Canuck2 said:This is the height of chauvinism: turning one's nose up at the way one country's bacteria reacts with milk...

I can't even go to Suburban to get away from it any more. And they claim they arn't nationalistic!
