America, Worlds Biggest Debtor

rogue yam said:
I reckon that you are a lying leftist, frustrated by your "god that failed" (socialism), and unable to articulate a coherent vision for the future that stands any chance of having popular appeal. So you are reduced to hating America but lying about it in an utterly transparent and pathetic way. Boring.

It used to be said that "antisemitism is the socialism of fools". This was always incorrect and confused since it is socialism itself that is the socialism of fools. Now it is anti-Americanism that fills the void in souls that no longer believe in socialism, God, truth, or morality. Everybody has to have something. You have hatred and hope for the suffering of others. Congratulations.

Actually, most of us look at the States with sadness. We feel pity for those who are still being brainwashed. We look for signs that you will wake up and realize the horrors that you are perpetrating. We want to believe that you are not really evil, just ignorant.

Tell me one (just one) thing that I've lied about.

Go on, just one.

You can't can you.

When I was a student and everyone one else was looking for flats, I bought a house to rent out to other students. That's how socialist I am.

What exactly in my last post is America-hating? I said it was a tradgedy remember?

I think you might be clutching at straws there mate.

Wow! So selfless! We shall call you Saint Poutine-for-brains.

I suppose it makes a change.

He usually appears to be clutching his shrivelled flaccid member as he posts, futilely attempting to arouse himself by spewing meaningless rightwing invective.

IMHO, of course! :) :)

We should call you what you are.

"Chickenhawking Republican with an inability to debate"

or

"Foul-mouthed oaf who substitutes invective for reason".

yammie, yammie, yammie - I do dispair for you. This is the second time you have tried to use French and the second time you have made the same mistake.

It's sainte - I'm female.

Remember it was "un link" not "une link" - same thing. Either use the language correctly or stay away from it.

We'll defend the free world. You lot are in charge of fine-tuning that metric language nonsense. Let us each play to our strengths, eh?

(Did I spell that last bit right?)

What? by bombing it?

Wriggle and squirm all you like, you can't escape the basic fact that the current administration that you so admire has ransacked the treasury and given an insane amount of money to war-profiteers.

There's rot at the top, rogue-yam, face it. Corporate lobbyists are in control of campaign finance. We're hearing the word "reform" a lot from back-peddling Republicans because they're terrified that we should really be hearing about prosecutions. For what it's worth, the same thing is happening right now in the UK.

The liberals were right all along and you were wrong and everyone in the whole wide world knows it.

Canadians don't say eh anymore - that is soooo 5 years ago.

I agree with the strengths part though - you go invade and cause all sorts of harm and damage and after you get bored, we go in and clean up the mess you made.

Been this way for years and years.

Right now, our hands are full trying to deal with the Afghan mess. We even pulled our guys out of Golan to go help. Lord, what a disaster.

I suppose we will have to go do Iraq later, when you pull out of course. Any idea when that may be? We need to schedule these things, you know.

I'd say more disorientated than insane.

Everything he believes in has turned out to be bollocks and now he's alternating between running around yapping and attacking anything that moves and wringing his hands and trying to hide behind the flag like the whining conservative he is. :D

I post as much well-reasoned, well-written material on these P&P threads as anyone, and far more than most including you. You lie when you claim otherwise.

Where is this well-reasoned, well-written material situated? All I've ever seen from you is USA grandiosity and hissy fits at anyone who doesn't agree with you.
Maybe some ill-natured 'leftie' goblin sneaks onto u75 at night and changes all your well-reasoned posts into petty diatribes??

"The War Is Bad for the Economy"

Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, 63, discusses the true $1 trillion cost of the Iraq conflict, its impact on the oil market and the questions of whether the West can afford to impose sanctions on Iran.

"SPIEGEL: Is war no longer affordable even for countries as rich as the United States?

Stiglitz: You have to remember we are an economy of $13 trillion a year. The issue is not whether you can afford it but whether this is the way you want to spend your money."

http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/spiegel/0,1518,409710,00.html

They really are stinking rich... what does that 13 trillion a year really mean...anyone know?

That has been my experience as well. There is a bit of a pause and then they apologise. It gives me a strange feeling and I feel a bit embarassed that they feel the need to justify themselves and separate themselves from their president.

btw - cemetryone started a thread on the documentary. Rogue Yam is expressing his doubt about the authenticity over there as well. As bad as I feel for the Americans who feel the need to apologize, I feel worse for Rogue Yam.

eta: beautiful blond from Belgium, eh? Lucky you ;)

Nationalism, I f*cking hate it me. Why do right-wingers seemingly always define themselves by which country they dropped out of their mothers pussy in? All their flag waving bullshit, they should get up, get out, get a fucking life and think for themselves instead of "USA! USA! USA!"

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel" - Samuel Johnson.

They don't even represent America (though they think they do)

The Americans I know find them mildly embarrasing - and I'm sure this goes for most Americans generally - certainly most Americans who'd actually travelled - and that includes the ones who have only gone to other countries to kill people.

The ex-military people (who've seen active service) that I've met have all been fairly strongly grounded in reality - having had to face reality to a degree that most of us will (hopefully) never have to deal with.

It's generally only the stay-at-home-soldiers "fighting" by hiding behind their keyboards and being rude to people they will never meet (like rogue-yam) that come up with right-wing-extremist-copying twaddle.

Our low interest rates are good for our economy, true, and if interest rates rise this will cut consumer spending and retard growth. .

Maybe, maybe not. Low interest rates mean fewer investors buy the US dollar, which means its value falls in relation to other currencies.
