If I’m absolutely desperate for the item RIGHT NOW I just spend £4 on next day delivery and then by the end of the year discover I’ve saved £40+ off the inferior Prime service.

Prime membership is worthwhile for Prime Video alone, imo (it's cheaper than Netflix). Add on to that Prime Reading and unlimited photo storage, free delivery (usually next day) on pretty much everything I buy online and I reckon that £80 a year is one of my best annual bargains.

There are some other quite good features that Prime offers - free TV/flims, books, magazines, music, etc. Mostly, I'm not in a particular hurry, and choose "no-rush" delivery, because they give you a £1 credit for the TV, etc., so recouping the cost of Prime

The thing is, you don't find out what the expected delivery date is until you're checking out.

I've nished Apple Music. Most of what I need is on Prime Music and if it's not I can usually find it somewhere else like Youtube. The unlimited photo storage is ace and really simple to use which is perfect for me. I reckon we buy stuff online two or three times a month so overall prime membership probably pays for itself 3 or 4 times over in a year. I'm very pleased with it.

If you get an Amazon Firestick for twenty quid and sideload Kodi you can bin Netflix too (although we've still got NF).

Most annoying with Prime is when you've been searching for something to watch for ages, find something and click on it, only to find it's not included and you have to pay extra. That doesn't happen often, tbf.

There are loads of kids' shows where there's a free series or two but they want more money for the rest. And when you've seen the same episode of Sarah and Duck eighteen times it's quite tempting.

Dunno really. I think I tend to compare Netflix and Amazon by section; so TV v TV, Films v Films, and Amazon Originals v Netflix Originals. Probably doesn't make a lot of sense now that I think about it.

Cheers for the Ray Donovan heads up. I've been eyeing it up for a while but haven't bothered. Will give it a go. My film of the year so far is on Amazon Prime ... Land of Mine.

Didn't even know about the photo storage thing although I'm paying Google for extra space, I might stick them all there as well as an extra backup.

No surround sound when using a browser to access Amazon Prime, and the fussy cunts won't build in chromecasting capabilities. That said, DD on Amazon from my Roku sounds better than Netflix's DD. I guess Netflix has to be careful how much Amazon hosting it uses..
