Is that a measure in motor racing? Surely a 'tyre'?Badgers said:Lewis by a nose

Second what you say there, why would they want a prima donna driver when they've got guys who performed vwery well today and an improving design team. I've no doubt that someone would scoop up Alonso, but it would be one of the top three teams, they are already in a good enough position. Lewis would be enough to carry the team provided they keep a competent enough driver to support him so that most of the pack aren't applying pressure to him and they get enough team points to secure the constructors championshipDead Cat Bounce said:Alonso is a great driver but a bad, bad loser.
He's not made many friends this weekend.
Would BMW want him next year? They've got two very quick drivers at the moment, I'd have a guess and say that Alonso earns a lot more than Kubica and Heidfeld combined.
An interesting season to say the least.

At least his reasoning that he had to make a split second decision is more reasonable than Alonso's who just fucked about to cause hassle at a moment when the team didn't have ANY leeway.Stanley Edwards said:Hamilton was the first to break team orders mind. Bit of a prima himself. To big for his boots and way over protected by the whole F1 management. He's good for F1 and he knows it. He isn't the best driver in the field by a long shot. Four or, Five could be better.

Edited to add:
I can't tell if the trainer looks pleased with himself or scared though
Apparently McLaren are appealing the stewards' decision.
You really haven't got a clue, have you?Stanley Edwards said:I reckon the 'teams' have remote speed limiting devices these days. It's no more than Scalectrix on billion dollar budgets. Bet a million that they at very least have a remote engine cut out button.
It's all bollocks. Why isn't there any over taking these days?

The current championship table would seem to disagree with you.Stanley Edwards said:He isn't the best driver in the field by a long shot.

True. First time in 30 races that a single driver has led on every lap.beesonthewhatnow said:The current championship table would seem to disagree with you.![]()
That's just a load of spin(no pun intendedfear-n-loathing said:alonso hasn't done himself any favours
) coming from the UK press though, alonso was saying that hamilton initiated the complaint to the stewards and had a go at dennis about it - this after breaking the rules himself....There's a pretty sensible explanation for this; when it came to the last lap Raikkonen could more afford to gamble and knew he had to. Also, less fuel. Meanwhile, Hamilton only has to do enough.Stanley Edwards said:It's all fixed init. Fucking boring.
Can anyone tell me why Kimi Raikkonen waited until the very last lap to show how much faster he could have been than anyone else?
I'll listen to argument about aerodynamics and over taking problems, but Kimi Raikkonen was over a second faster than Hamilton on the last lap after trailing him by half a second for 20 plus laps. Surely he could have done it earlier.
Last lap times:
Hamilton - 1:21.164
Raikkonen - 1:20.047
Hamilton's fastest lap was around 1:20.330 IIRC.
Fuck boring compared to the days of René Arnoux and the like![]()
The main reason is this stupid 2-race rule for the engines, it means that the drivers don't force things until it's late in the race because they want to preserve their starting position for the next raceStanley Edwards said:It's all fixed init. Fucking boring.
