(Allegedly) Spiked at The Albert

Sent some people down your way. How were Ukelele Gangsters?
They were a whole heap of fun. I'm not sure how strong some of their songs are, but you can't knock their originality or the fantastic effort they put into their shows. They're a lovely bunch of blokes and a really entertaining live band.

Wasn't suggested that for a minute Ed, but the venue isn't getting the glowing reports I'd have imagined on this thread in general.

I'll prolly still try for myself for an U75 thang

FWIW I pretty much only ever go to the Albert for urban events, but I quite like it. It's not the most attractive pub in London but the beer's usually very drinkable and the atmosphere's good. :)

Indeed she was. She's got a couple of more London dates this month and then her first single is out in December.

I know her, and her mum and dad :). She's lovely as well as being very talented. I was supposed to go last night but I was away. Do you know when the next London dates are?

Her mum and grandmother were there last night and I was talking to them. I checked her myspace and there just seems to be one more London gig on 6th November at 229 (sorta Euston area I believe). It's the same line-up as we had at the Windmill with Peggy Sue and Derek Meins, both of whom are well worth seeing and all three sit well together on a bill with each other.

Thanks Twisted. I've missed her last few dates for one reason or another and was embarrassed to ask her when she was next playing :o

...we were there on Friday night with a friend from out of town and one who lives around the corner - we had an absolutely stonking night and keep telling ourselves to come more often. We were also in the Albert on Saturday enroute to see Underworld. Around 9pm we noticed a bit of aggro starting where then dance floor normally is - no idea what was the cause though someone came in off of the street and was seriously hassling someone inside the pub. The guy in the pub seemed bemused by it all but the guy from outside kept coming back in to restart the row - was all a bit intimidating tbh and hope the guy in side was ok and his evening wasn't too spoiled.

I reallt like the Albert, it's a nice place to go for a pint and a lively chat. I haven't been there in a while, probably about 2 months.:(
