Loved Speedball. :)
it looks like 20 years later they've decided to remake it!
Speedball Arena (cancelled)

Officially announced after a leak, Speedball Arena was billed as a return of the series with complex on-line options. It was set for a Christmas 2002 release, however it was cancelled not long after the official announcement.

Speedball 2 - Remake (2007, PC)

October 2006, Frogster Interactive Pictures announced that it had secured the rights to create the sequel to Speedball. Frogster stated the release would be in Autumn 2007.

I think I should of put Wii Sports in as well. I've played it almost every day for the last four months.

The sequel almost made my top 10. Most underrated platformer ever IMO, pissed all over Mario and Sonic.

No.

Nothing can come close to Earth Worm Jim. For pure invention and just utter madness its truly a work of art and kicks sand in that amateur Amiga platformers face.

Take off those rose tinted specs.

Earthworm Jim was brilliant, but just seem to remember it being over so quick. Typical Megadrive platformer, only lasted about 6 levels and that was it. James Pond 2 just seemed to last forever.

Still, I don't think any game can ever top the superb payoff for the 'cow launched' joke at the end of Earthworm Jim. :D :D

1 Monkey Island series

2 Broken Sword series bar the most recent PC one cos I've not played that yet but I'm guessing it's

3 The Phoenix Wright series (can you see a theme developing here!)

4 Animal Crossing (GC and DS)

5 Colony on the Amstrad. It was worth the 17 hours of loading time and the frequent taps on the back of the monitor to gauge overheating related blowupability

6 Dizzy the original. The others were all a bit  but the Oliver brothers were

7 Street Fighter 2. Grab and randomly rotate control stick, mash buttons, repeat :D

8 Beneath a Steel Sky which was a wicked point and click game.

9 Gobliiins, in particular part 3. I think we got stuck on one bit for literally 2 months. No 'ternet in them days.

10 Police Quest. It was truely awful gameplay but then most of the games back in the day were. There was no chance of finishing them.
