Aldi knive sets £12

i had one, when I lived with my ex

I'm not allowing myself one ever again

*strokes scars*

what, the ones that I managed to chop the top of my thumb off with :o :D

I shouldn't cook when pissed :( in fact, it was using a cleaver when pissed that hurt too :D

Any idiot can take their thumb off. It's when you take off the edge of your chopping board that you know that you're using cleaver power!

TIP: dont use cheapo Ikea wooden chopping boards and a heavyweight cleaver together.

Beautiful knifes - go for it if you can afford it. Which set is it out of interest?

I love my Globals, but it 's worth trying out a few brands. I probably wouldn't use them if I was working in kitchens again - they're a pain to sharpen and lack a little weight/handles a little slippery if you're regularly cooking huge quantities, but otherwise they're lovely. Very good for the home cook

I have been looking and the only one I can see that looks similar is the 8 piece set thats 450 quid, which wouldn't surprise me. Costco often have kitchen stuff in there thats stupidly cheap. I could have sworn it said 7, but it was a while ago that I looked and I am certain its that (non-dotty) block. Would have to go there to check.

The sharpening steel at 90 quid puts me off. Clearly sounds like you need it with these knives.
