My must have albums - the later Velvet Underground albums - country ish pop songs with great riffs and strange lyrics.

Yeah. The third (self titled) one has always been my favourite, played it just the other day - it's great.

All a bit mainstream, but great anyway

soul - 'Whats Going On?' - Marvin Gaye

folk - 'Tapestry' Carole King
'Blood on the Tracks' Bob Dylan

easy listenin' - 'Songs for Swinging Lovers' Frank Sinatra (might be a compilation)

:)

Not a compilation! A classic album! Made in 1956, I think the first to put Frankie together with Nelson Riddle, the sound quality would be hard to beat even today. Listen to it up loud and hear fullness of the horns. The clarity of the vocals. The big, big sound. I can't even put it into words!

Just buy it, everyone. It's an all-time must-have.

The new Fall one, 'Heads Roll', out in a week or so.

The Go! Team: 'Thunder Lightning Strike'.

Hard-Fi: 'Stars Of CCTV'  :p - @ all the haters

I get the feeling I am the only Urbanite who has ever heard of Felt. Though surely some older viewers will have heard the single Primitive Painters, which Felt did in collaboration with The Cocteau Twins.

*ahem*

i get the feeling i'm the only urbanite who had a felt songtitle as their tagline for the last six months or so... :p

but a fine, fine, fine, fine choice. i salute you!

Vitalic!!!! techno the way it used to be but still in a modern way and you keep gradually turning it up and up until the asbo arrives...but you don't care cos yourr listening to vitalic...and all the complaining neighbours come around to complain and they listen to the Vitalic you're playing and they like Vitalic too and the whole street becomes a big Vitalic party. Then the world. Crap name though. Sounds like a carrot enriched smoothie...

Cool. I have to say I didn't see your tagline to my disappointment.

Let The Snakes Crinkle Their Heads To Death, I say! :)

Bowie - Young Americans - David gets off his head on coke in west coast america, gets Lennon in for some backing vocals (& writing) and breaks Luther Vandross on an unsuspecting world. A soulful funky spiritual album of greatness.

real gone - tom waits

marcus garvey - burning spear

tago mago - can

ralf and florian - ralf and florian
