Agreed, absolutely wonderful.
Mono have a new one out today. I haven't heard it so can't comment directly on its quality. Allmusic like it though. I shall search for it.
I have treated myself to the album as it's Friday
This is from December, but missed all the end of year lists: Glasgow post-punk / house-ish hybrid from Richard Youngs. Lovely stuff.
Sinking Into A Miracle, by AMOR
Nkisi's 7 Directions album is ace.
Warp-y Artificial Intelligence era techno meets Congolese percussion.
I'm liking it - need to listen a bit more (and see it live of course )
Had never heard of them but this is sooo soothing on a dreary wet Monday morning.
Better Oblivion Community Center, self-titled debut album:
It's a bit indie, bit folky, bit country - reminds me a bit of early Lemonheads.
I love this album of Arthur Russell covers by Peter Broderick (free to download too)
Czarface meets Ghostface is out on Feb 15th - should be well worth a listen.
This new tape of deep ambient & minimal techno has been my jam for the last few days.
New British Murder Boys- Live CD, which as you can imagine takes no prisoners, but is just like being there in person.
Really liking this on first listen. Very Mogwai.
what d'you all reckon to this?
Really enjoying the new one by Beirut:
Has it had a UK release (the Mono LP)? I've struggled to find it on any of the indie shops' websites.
That sounds interesting. Do we know who's produced it?
stavros the Czar-Keys - 7L and someone else.
I fkn love Czarface anyway, so am always happy to hear new stuff from them.
Digging this new shoegazy black metal tape. Lovely stuff.
The Cool Greenhouse are Fall fans with a keyboard who aren't shy of repetition. And ace.
Also this new Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
No idea, I generally check stuff out on Spotify first and then start buying CDs later in the year.
Mixed feelings about them - the instrumental bits are gorgeous, the singing: meh.
PRESSTERROR debut album, pretty nice melancholic trance
The Avon Terror Corps mixtape is good.
This came out very late December and I'm a sucker for anything to do with Thomas Feiner . Thomas Feiner with ex members of Japan is even better.
Yep that avon terrror corps is good
New Mekons out in March, and a new Laura Cannell on the horizon.
I can't quiet work out if this is a new record or rerelease, but I think it is previouusly unreleased... Dub Dem Silly vol.2, by Dennis Bovell, a 2nd volume of dub versions of Janet Kays Silly Games album. This is pretty perfect:
A new Matmos album is due in mid-March. This time they've made a record with only the sounds of plastic objects, including a silicon breast implant.
And I like what I've heard of the new Xiu Xiu so far. This is the title track:
Separate names with a comma.
