    It's the business... of course.

  6. tommers

    tommers Your disco needs you

Some Finnish electronica. Out today. If you play games then you might know the guy, he did the music for Minit, Nuclear Throne and Luftrausers but this is his first album and I am enjoying it very very much. :D

As far as I can tell it's a repackaging of their early 80s EP and LP. Nonetheless, it's an interesting listen:

Thanks kb, will have a look through that when I'm WFH tomorrow :)

  11. Spandex

Spandex A crazy bulbous punchbag of sound

    Insalar - Demedim Mi

Anyone for a 45 minute long Anatolian techno-folk tune? Baris K brings the acid chug, Cem Yildiz jams over the top. The whole thing is entrancing.

Here's part 1 (the A-side of the vinyl, part 2 is the same length and takes up the B-side):

Exquisite pipe organ drones - highly recommended...

Still listen to stars of the lid/brian mc bride for my go to drone hit.

Lots to work through on the Quietus list. No Thom Yorke though.

Really enjoying this electro-pop album from Sheffield. It's packed with great tunes. A little bit Human League, a little bit Goldfrapp, or as the press release puts it "Moroder playing down a youth club in Rotherham".

Here's the video for After Dark, featuring Maxine Peake for some reason:

I've been listening to this album on rotation. I heard a couple of tracks on the radio and made a point to catch them at Citadel last weekend. They're genuinely the first interesting thing I've heard in new music for a long time.

One of the best albums I've heard in the last few years. I listen to it every day on the way in to work & genuinely feel excited every time I start it off. I can't really put it into words, so I won't. I just like it.

Sure you like the album, but you really need to listen to more new music if you think this.

Good to see we've finally identified this year's Only Good Thing About Music Right Now though.

ILL took the Only Good Thing About Music Right Now title in 2018, wrestling it from Idles (2017).
