Irène Drésel - Hyper Cristal is another decent techno / electronic album from this year.
I'm just listening to it now for the first time. Not bad, and quite varied. I only have Double Figure of their back catalogue.
This, however, was my other purchase today, and is 29 minutes of pull-no-punches awesomeness:
[Note, this isn't even the best track, just the only one I could find a non-live version of on the interweb.]
few people been raving about the Amyl LP, did see a live video and wasn't that convinced but video above is better
A Certain Ratio 40th Anniversary Edition
Bought yesterday, not listened yet.
Steve Davis has an album out in September on Rocket Recordings. Kinda neoclassical/cosmische stuff if this taster is anything to go by.
It's....alright I suppose. Might be a grower.
Going to see them live in a couple of weeks.
Excellent- saw them at the church gig in London a couple of years ago.
New album by Robag Wruhme is very good. Soothing!
New Jesca Hoop album out next month
Looking like we might get a new Sleater-Kinney album this year.
New album by Kate Tempest out yesterday
^^ that was playing in work and one customer said they were off home to top themselves and another said "shoot me now"
it is dark but ace
I received my pre-order of this today, and it's wonderful stuff. Still not up on God Unknown's bandcamp, but you can hear the whole album via the german label that's releasing it on CD here. It would really reward your attention - solo piano and Hayward singing for the most part. Really weird and unsettling in places, joyful and uplifting in others.
