  1. Irène Drésel - Hyper Cristal is another decent techno / electronic album from this year.

I'm just listening to it now for the first time. Not bad, and quite varied. I only have Double Figure of their back catalogue.

This, however, was my other purchase today, and is 29 minutes of pull-no-punches awesomeness:

[Note, this isn't even the best track, just the only one I could find a non-live version of on the interweb.]

Steve Davis has an album out in September on Rocket Recordings. Kinda neoclassical/cosmische stuff if this taster is anything to go by.

I received my pre-order of this today, and it's wonderful stuff. Still not up on God Unknown's bandcamp, but you can hear the whole album via the german label that's releasing it on CD here. It would really reward your attention - solo piano and Hayward singing for the most part. Really weird and unsettling in places, joyful and uplifting in others.

American Football popped up in my Spotify Release Radar this week - never heard of them before, but it's pretty good, bit Mogwai-ish or Oceansize-y:

Boom! Love this. I do keep an eye on Firescope - they put out lots of stuff that sounds like B12 - mostly because most of it is by B12 :D - but this one is a real gem.
