Irène Drésel - Hyper Cristal is another decent techno / electronic album from this year.
I'm just listening to it now for the first time. Not bad, and quite varied. I only have Double Figure of their back catalogue.
This, however, was my other purchase today, and is 29 minutes of pull-no-punches awesomeness:
[Note, this isn't even the best track, just the only one I could find a non-live version of on the interweb.]
few people been raving about the Amyl LP, did see a live video and wasn't that convinced but video above is better
A Certain Ratio 40th Anniversary Edition
Bought yesterday, not listened yet.
Steve Davis has an album out in September on Rocket Recordings. Kinda neoclassical/cosmische stuff if this taster is anything to go by.
It's....alright I suppose. Might be a grower.
Going to see them live in a couple of weeks.
Excellent- saw them at the church gig in London a couple of years ago.
New album by Robag Wruhme is very good. Soothing!
New Jesca Hoop album out next month
Looking like we might get a new Sleater-Kinney album this year.
New album by Kate Tempest out yesterday
^^ that was playing in work and one customer said they were off home to top themselves and another said "shoot me now"
it is dark but ace
I received my pre-order of this today, and it's wonderful stuff. Still not up on God Unknown's bandcamp, but you can hear the whole album via the german label that's releasing it on CD here. It would really reward your attention - solo piano and Hayward singing for the most part. Really weird and unsettling in places, joyful and uplifting in others.
American Football popped up in my Spotify Release Radar this week - never heard of them before, but it's pretty good, bit Mogwai-ish or Oceansize-y:
6music have done a '10 essential albums of 2019 so far' list.
BBC - 10 essential albums from 2019 so far - as recommended by 6 Music
Fly pan am are releasing a record in september.
Limpopo Champions League by Sho Madjozi
Its on Spotify. The video is a live performance but the album is worth a listen
Just having a catch up today, there's been so many wicked new albums this year so far.
Loyle Carner - Not waving, but drowning
Andreya Triana - Life in colour
Rammstein - Rammstein
Skittles - Poor on purpose
I've just stuck ones in not mentioned in the thread.
Miles too good a review for Lux Prima, it is a perfectly good record but nothing special at all.
there's a new Carter/Tutti/Void LP out in august - the lead single is great
Excellent, thanks for the heads up kb
New LINGUA IGNOTA album, "Caligula", out in July.
There's another United Bible Studies LP, more ambient drone folk. Lovely again.
Can’t stop playing In the End. Beautiful album.
Locked Groove - Sunset Service
John Shima - The Lonely Machine
Lush album of Artificial Intelligence/B12 style techno.
Boom! Love this. I do keep an eye on Firescope - they put out lots of stuff that sounds like B12 - mostly because most of it is by B12 - but this one is a real gem.
