New Sleep album!! Sounds excellent so far.
Mastersystem, new "supergroup" of bits of Editors and Frightened Rabbit - not bad:
Woah - the album is immense!
yes nice surprise, way better than you would expect it to be
imagine peak period ozzy singing on it tho, that would be awesome.
Yeah - the vocals are not that special - but with such monster riff action I'm more than happy to forgive. Was listening on my train to work this morning - beaming from ear to ear....
Mike Donovan (Peacers, Sic Alps) has released his second solo album this week - How To Get Your Record Played In Shops. 13 homemade woozy psychedelic nuggets. Sounded good on first listen, will have listens two and three before the day is out.

Did you see this new Laura Marling project belboid ?
Laura Marling Announces New Album With LUMP, Shares New Song: Listen | Pitchfork
Janelle Monae album is out. Also Belly have a new one!
Yup, got tickets for them in Hebden Bridge. the lyrics on the first track were pretty shite, but her voice is still nice.
Enjoying the new Denim and Leather album this morning.
Sacred Autism, by Denim & Leather
Django Django with Marble Skies has been very pleasant
Am I allowed to talk about ones I'm looking forward to?
Leon Bridges - Bad Bad News got stuck as a serious earworm this week
Boy Azooga - unfortunately a bit skint or else I'd be off to Notts next month for this
Father John Misty sounds like it could be good but apparently there have been mixed opinions about it. I think Lamacq played something other than Mr Tillman to Marmite reviews this week.
Really liking this - pop with a little something extra.
The Off Me Nut Allstars Vol.3 is a great collection of everything Off Me Nut. Over 40 tracks covering bassline, jungle, happy hardcore, donk and lots more
First album from Vive La Void, otherwise known as Sanae Yamada (one half of Moon Duo with partner Ripley Johnson from Wooden Shjips). The album is also called Vive La Void. Good album this, don't think there's a duff track on here. Pleasing melodic electronic gubbins all the way. Some instrumental tracks, some with Ms Yamada's breathy vocals. Reviewers will bandy about phrases like krautrock, motorik etc. but that's their business. Moon Duo albums (the obvious comparison) have some great songs but they invariably include the odd upbeat, high tempo clunker which mars the mood for me. No danger of that here. 4 stars out of 5 is my initial verdict.

This is really good. Thanks for the recommendation
Hjördis-Britt Åström – VI
Galatée – Sans Titre
Хьёрдис – Разрушение
Three albums so far this year by Dimitry Gruber from Rostov-on-Don. He’s been churning out music for the past four years – 250 albums, EPs and singles under various aliases on his Hjördis-Britt Åström Bandcamp page since 2014, all by him and sometimes a vocalist. I’ve been digging through his stuff for a while - it’s not especially ground-breaking stuff, most of the tracks are 2:30 to 3 minutes long and there’s some repetition in the catalogue, but I like his sound, there’s some absolute gems in there, and for the last year or so he’s really been honing his style, becoming someone to watch.
The Hjördis-Britt Åström album is an electro album.
Galatee (Gruber with Kathleen Greenglass singing in that deadpan French style) is synthpop.
Хьёрдис (Guber with Marianna Diakova singing in Russian) is more indie.
Despite the different styles they’re all recognisably his and all very good.
This video makes me smile and the rest of the album of lounge funk tracks from Khruangbin isn't bad either.
Saw these guys yesterday and had to buy their album straight away. Locked heavy sax/drums workouts - for fans of Colin Stetson, Horselords, Dead Neanderthals. Catch 'em live if you can.
Right having given this record a proper listen and seeing them do it live last night I can confirm this is a v special album, definitely up there competing for the top for me. It is very varied, each song is its own world, as well as surprisingly moving, despite using elements of pastiche. A very singular creation
Their support was from Dog Chocolate who also have a new record out. Dunno if the record is for me but I highly recommend them live, way funnier than 99% of "comedy" and also actual cool tunes when they get going

my fave track off it -
Will check out, sounds right up my street.
It really is.
love this, sardonic kitchen sink electro poetry
I want to give them a listen, but boy are they hard to find on Slsk with a name like that.
I bought the Smiley Maxx-Cloud$ album last week. Absolutely love it.
Looking for a track title, if the band had a fairly generic name, always used to work for me.
New Beach House album is out today. My favourite band <3
