This week I've been mostly listening to the debut eponymously titled album from the Weeping Bong Band. Slightly cheesy name but we'll let it pass. Five gently floating instrumental jams from a four piece Massachusetts band. Sounds a bit like Tom Carter or maybe an ultra mellow unheavied Bardo Pond. No full track samples to show you but there are a few live offerings on the link below to give an indication of what's afoot.

    Odeon - Galaxies

Some Italian cosmic disco for these hot summer evenings. As they describe themselves: "Take the mellow melodies of Talk Talk and the celestial guitar riffs of Cocteau Twins bound together with some heavy Goblin-inspired bassline and you’ll be close to picturing Odeon’s signature sound."

  5. Good Luck in Death - They Promised Us a Bright Future, We Were Content With an Obscure Past.
4 tracks of dark ambient from Mondkopf & Charbel Haber.

Tirzah's debut album is out on the 10th august, and if the twitter chat and first single are anything to go by it'll be a beaut of an album. Think it's entirely produced by Mica Levi as well which is sound.

Deafheaven's Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is out next Friday. The track I've heard is excellent.

The Lavender Flu put out the best guitar album of the last few years, an amazing psychedelic sound collage....they have a new one which seem a lot more concise:

I forgot to pick it up in town, either yesterday or today. I'll look forward to it though, as I've heard good stuff elsewhere.

Enjoying this drone folk meditation on menstruation right now - uneasy listening, but beautiful in places. Should be up your alley if you're into late-period Coil I reckon.
