Alan Shearer - What a Nerve!

Because our caps-lock loving friend DRINK? is a ManUre fan, and it's a matter of record that ManUre fans loathe Shearer because he had the gall to reject a move to Old Trafford.

So I was just pointing out that he isn't likely to be the most objective critic of Shearer's behaviour.

By the way, did you hear that ManUre lost 4-1 on Saturday? :D :D :D

and you are the very definition of an objective critic?

actually i had heard about saturdays score, and have you heard that villa are sixth from the bottom and just 2 points above the relegation zone? :d :d :d, or that they have won fuckall for nearly 25 years?

Bollocks, Shearer coming or not coming to Utd is irrelevant, I think he is a c*nt simple as that, think the same of lots of players as it goes, though players never mentioned in the same breath as Utd.

I bet you can find loads of people who think the same, as for Shearer and Utd the only things I really think about the two are him near tears after another cup final defeat and the fact that David May has more medals

Didn't know our esteemed Aylee was a Villa fan, and there was me thinking he knew something about the game....... christ things must be bad if I'm debating the intracacies of the beautiful game with someone brought up on the dirge served up at Villa Park week in week out ;)

Can we just say in response to all the nonsense spouted about the Shearer and Whittle confrontation since the match:

Watch both challenges and watch the ball. Shearer headed it in his challenge, the ball was an irrelevance in the Whittle assault.

Anyone who knows anything about football knows the score. Shearer plays hard and pushes the laws of the game, Whittle was playing outside the laws of the game and outside the law of the land.

When was the last time Shearer split someone's lip, requiring three stitches??

rocket, the way i saw it was, shearer deliberately elbowed whittle to the jaw, whittle retaliated by deliberately hitting shearer with the back of his arm to his mouth, an eye for an eye, or in this case a mouth for a jaw, the fact that shearer headed the ball is an irrelavance,

That's just because, as with most of his career, he's not very successful. He's tried to split lips for years without actually achieving. :D

2000 - Alan Shearer has been accused of deliberately breaking Malta defender Darren Debono's nose. The pair clashed in the first half of England's friendly with Malta and skipper Shearer clearly caught him with a flailing arm. Video replays seem to support Shearer's claim that there was "no intent there".

Debono, however, is adamant that the England captain did it on purpose: "Shearer should have been sent off for what he did to me," said the Malta defender. "He was not even booked. It was a deliberate elbow and the referee should have stopped the game.

"My face was a mess after what happened and I had to got to hospital and have stitches. He said sorry but it was too late and it was the worst injury I've had from a foul."

Debono described exactly what he felt had happened: "A cross came in and I was before him for the ball. But when I went for it he gave the elbow. He pushed me out with his elbow.

UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Body today announced the suspension of the Newcastle United FC player Alan Shearer for 2 matches as a result of his violent conduct during the UEFA Champions League match versus Internazionale FC played at St James’ Park in Newcastle on 27 November 2002.

The decision was rendered on the basis of video evidence that showed the Newcastle United FC player elbow Fabio Cannavaro but also took into account provocation in the form of shirt-pulling leading up to the incident.

I'm more likely to be objective about a clash between Shearer and an opposition defender than is a ManUre fan.

I had heard about Villa's position, actually yes. And if you bothered to check your facts you would know that we won the League cup in 1994 (beating ManUre 3-1 :D ) and 1996. And .... er .... the Intertoto Cup one year as well.

Believe me, if you watch shite such as that we had last night week in, week out, you quickly begin to appreciate what quality football is; ie, the opposite of what our boys in claret and blue are playing.
