Alan Moore

I'm a pretty, erm, "rationalist" type of person and don't really go in for the quote unquote "hippy" kinda stuff. But what he says is very very interesting and i would be curious to find out more.

Same for me, but have you seen the Alan Moore interview/film? Now that's pretty cool - Moore talks about magic a bit in that, but somehow it doesn't sound stupid or crazy - it comes across as a fairly rational reaction to the world we live in.
I got the impression that Moore's in no way as hippy-dippy as you might think, but that he's a seriously sharp thinker, and that his use of the term "magic" (magik, magick, magiq, whatever) is simply because it has the right kind of connotations for what he sees happening in the world, rather than because he seriously believes in "actual" magic - potions and crystals conjuring spirits and suchlike.

liked the interview he did with Eno...chain reaction, wasn't it?

...heh.

1st episode of the 1st series Stewart Lee interviewed Alan Moore, second episode Alan Moore interviewed Brian Eno.

You can download Lee interviewing Moore from here. It's listed under "miscellaneous audio"

He's doing a talk with Blackwell's on... Thursday, I think. Supposedly to "celebrate the publication of Lost Girls", but what with Great Ormond St throwing a hissy fit, the book hasn't actually been released. Oh well.

EDIT: Ah, someone's beaten me to it... :)

The man's a genius. Currently loving Top Ten, which is outstanding. Just wish Amazon hadn't sent me Book 2 before Book 1, but there you go...

Ah, the man is stupidly talented. Neil Gaiman, pah!!
Anyone know if they be tickets left for his Blackwells reading?

Btw, swamp thing, his best work. Not that he can't do better, and hasn't over the years, but purely it's scope, it's humanism, and the fact that his take on DC'S whole crossover event, crisis on infinite earths, was, hands down, the only segement of the whole drama that had real impact. Except, off course, for the death of Flash.
