i actually think he manages to achieve what many other don't by doing seemingly doing non pc jokes in order to take the piss out of those who have those opinions, he succeeds where people ricky gervais fails, hes actually really clever, the sketch show is a bit shit though.


its clear that he taking the piss out of 'al murrays' types,

ricky gervais on the other hand tells jokes about the disabled etc, and then goes oooh misses, he has no target other to try get away with cheap gags,

al murray has a target, they are the butt of his jokes, not women or foreigners.

murray has a history degree, i think he indulges a bit too much in that in his sketch show.

Saw him do the Pub Landlord over a decade ago now and thought it was really funny, problem is he's still doing the same fucking jokes.

He had five minutes of good material, that he used in 1996.

And again in 1997, and again in 1998, etk etk etk.

Loathsome dull twunt. With huge pretensions, when appearing on 'serious' radio four to explain hisself. Dick, dick, dick.

he's rare in that he lasted so long doing a character for his comedy, ps i thought his chatshow the last few years was really really good.
