You might be right there I'm not seeing a backlash either.rogue yam said:I'm in America right now, and when I look around I simply do not see any "backlash"...
rogue yam said:I'm in America right now, and when I look around I simply do not see any "backlash", least of all one so unimaginably great. Sure, people are ambivalent about the war in Iraq and other issues, but that is just how we are, usually. The President is still in charge. His popular Supreme Court nominee is sailing to confirmation. The "lions" of the Democratic party are mainly heard of in jokes told during the opening monologues of the late-night talk shows. The presumptive 2008 Democratic frontrunner, Hillary, is trying (unsuccessfully) to flank the President on the right over Iran. Osama is widely seen as an evil and annoying man whose every word is a lie, and who is probably spending his every waking moment hiding from his fate. Folks would like him dead, but that's about it for him. The idea that any significant number of Americans would listen to his tape and think it anything other than some ploy is laughable. The Republicans want more than anything for the Nov. 2006 elections to be about Iraq and national security (and abortion) and the idiot Democrats are playing right into Republican strength. If this is a "backlash", then Karl Rove is a masochist because he's a very happy man right now.

I wonder how the US will cope if anything serious ever happens. 9/11 was bad, but come on. Less than half a dozen buildings were destroyed. Compare that to what the US military has done in other countries over the years. And stop feeling sorry for yourselves.Johnny Canuck2 said:

There are (at least) three different sites involving "aljazeera" in the URL which do not have anything to do with each other.Jazzz said:Well this article seems to be on the Al-Jazeera site! Maybe that helps editor.
There is no reason whatsoever to believe that Bin Laden’s tapes are authentic
http://www.aljazeera.com/about.aspAljazeera Publishing owns and operates Aljazeera.com, bringing you the world today. Aljazeera Publishing is an independent media organisation established for more than 12 years delivering news and analysis to readers all over the world. Aljazeera.com has a particular focus on events and issues in the Middle East covering major developments presenting facts as they happen.
Important note: Aljazeera Publishing and Aljazeera.com are not associated with the controversial Arabic Satellite Channel known as Jazeera Space Channel TV station whose website is Aljazeera.net.
Aljazeera Publishing disassociates itself from the views, opinions and broadcasts of Jazeera Space Channel TV station.
So, it's yet another clueless, completely unresearched claim from Jazzz which proves to be a load of bollocks.FridgeMagnet said:There are (at least) three different sites involving "aljazeera" in the URL which do not have anything to do with each other.
