If Im listening to some eighties synth pop I like to play air synths, banks of them spread as far apart as possible a la Jean Michele Jarre.

Occasionally I'll come out from behind my bank of air synths with an air keyboard in the shape of a guitar :o

Well have to say i quite enjoy a bit of air guitar when rocking out at home, usually in the kitchen.........

I try hard not to do it in public but if a fav tune comes on i have to stop my arms twitching !

:)

I find its only acceptable when stoned and listening to Pink Floyd - but then again, that may be classed as highly unacceptable. :D

there's only one thing cooler than air guitaring in public and that's when pissed blokes at wedding receptions/work dos/similar types of cheesy party think...no...they know!!! that when "billie jean" comes on they can dance as well as - if not better than - michael jackson

Wild Stallionz!!!!

I've got a real guitar but i've seen these air ones for sale on e-bay quite a lot. They're cheap too, i saw a 1960's air fender go for £3.21 a few months back.

Do you air guitarists have names for your air axes dudes? I bet barre chords are so easy on an air model.

What size air strings do you use?

*Considers trade in on the Martin for an air gibson 355

I was in queue at Somerfields yesterday and the fella in front was air guitaring - no music on either! That's what a diet of pringles and cola does.

Acceptable in certain circumstances:

a. When you're about 17.

b. When it's 9 in the morning, you've all been up all night ingesting dubious substances, you're winding down off the techno and feel like a 'good laugh'.

Usually as someone cracks open the first 'comedown bottle of red wine'

Air guitar is ESSENTIAL. You lot against it have no soul.

:(

*promises self to air guitar at next prod*

Air guitar is mandatory...as is...

air decks for those scratch moments...not to be confused with
...air mixing where you only air the mixing deck faders
air drums - and there are so many techniques!! From tip-tapping on something to the full on waving hands in a fit-like fashion!!
Air theramin (for beachboys and portishead moments on the iPod :D)
Air conducting complete with the 'long view' over the orchestra and leaning in to point at the string section when you reach a really emotive section

I once gave a bloke on TCR £20 to help pay for his airfare to the World Air Guitar Championship in Norway (IIRC) and he came 3rd.

My stepdad has his own baton for air-conducting
