after the anarchy: bands formed by former members of famous punk bands

And Teen Idles. And Evens. And Egg Hunt. And Rites Of Spring. And High Back Chairs. And probably a thousand more. And if we're doing Dag Nasty too then we can add All (courtesy of Dave Smalley) which leads us to the Descendents :D

Yeah, it gets complex :D
Someone should do a punk family trees book, like the rock one Pete Frame did

Discharge (awesomest 80s punk band) > Discharge (godawful cock metal shite) > Discharge (so-so punk band)

:D

lol, yeah that was a low phase in the mid 80s with some punk bands changing their sound and image in the quest for more commercial success , i don`t blame `em though.
Although TSOL did some amazing tracks on their more mainstream 1986 LP `Revenge`

ANWL - The League
The Addicts - ADX

Adam and the Ants - Bow Wow Wow/Culture Club (except for Adam of course)
Cockney Rejects - The Rejects
The Undertones - That Petrol Emotion
The Flowers of Romance - Sex pistols (Sid), Adam and the Ants (Marco), Siouxsie and the Banshees (Siouxsie and Steve Severin)

Yeah, true that. :D

(incestuous, these punk chaps, eh?)

That'd be cool.

Complex as fuckery, but cool. :D

it's frightening to see where our punk legends ended up isn't it?

Some were into punk because they were into breaking barriers and reclaiming music for the people and forging uncharted territory (a little pompous perhaps, but you know what i mean).

Some were just in it cos it was fashionable and inevitably end up in new romantic bands

how about:

The Stupids (late 80s Ipswich based skatepunk) -> Klute (noughties D'n'B/Dubstep)

and back to The Stupids recently, yay!

2000 dirty squatters (crusty, anracho, dog on a string, special brew punks on a bus) >>>>>>>>>>>>> Dead Silence (scary dark drum and bass)
