Not really - Original posts aint very punk! 
It's just that I remember being a teenage reader of the weekly music press from about 1974 on, and Pursey contradicted himself about his roots, his take on punk and his musical tastes just about every time Sounds, NME or Melody Maker interviewed him. He came across as a bit of a chancer, although that didn't stop me going to several Sham gigs..
