African Cup of Nations: Thoughts? Predictions?

Doctor was still over him checking his head and the gharnaian ambulence men decided it was time to move him and get him off the pitch.

I think anyway.

Just heard about Andre Bikey's unbeliveable daft & stupid sending off for Cameroun is probably one of the most bizzarest red cards since Eric Cantona went into kung-fu mode on that Palace fan! **Tries to find a clip of this incident**

Cantona had already been sent off before he did the world a favour and smacked that cunt.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!11!!!11!!!

Toure you clown!

Indeed Revol! (You were correct about the Cantona incident btw) Here's what the Beeb Sport have said about Egypt's third goal:

2156: GOAL Ivory Coast 1-3 Egypt
Unbelievable. A long ball is collected by Amr Zaki and as he moves towards goal Kolo Toure foolishly turns his back. The Arsenal defender loses track of where Zaki is and the Egypt striker moves into space before drilling the ball into the bottom corner.

The Egyptian keeper Al-Hadari is having a blinder of a game. He's made three important saves, including a stunning save to deny Drogba was a class save (save of the tournament imo)

The Pharoh's are certainly dispelling the claims that a North African team wouldn't do well in the ACN, especially in West Africa. It's 4-1 to Egypt and the Cote d'Ivoire are going out!

So the final of the ACN will be between the two teams who qualified in Group C Cameroun (going for a 5th title) vs Egpyt (going for a record 6th tite) on Sunday. Cameroon who have grinded thier way through to the final i.e. By playing at times poorly will be keen on evening the score after losing 4-2 in the group match.

Whilst the 3rd place match will be Ghana vs Cd'I

Come on you Lions. The clash of styles makes this a great game. Is there any neutral who wants the rigid northern European Egypt to beat the fluid sexy football Camaroon?

This is a great game, its flown by so quickly. Much better than chelsea/liverpool!!

Just what I was thinking, nobody is passing endlessly across their own back four or writhing on the floor in fake agony or doing any of the things which ruin a good match. Both teams look good, Cameroon have some very skillful players but Egypt are excellent on the break. Best match I've watched in ages :)

That's a bit harsh on Egypt -- scientific but beautiful would be my judgement. Great passing and movement :)

I reckon this is Egypt's for the taking -- R Song is always crucial for Cameroon but he's creaking a bit today. Then again, he is about 500 years old.

Grass too long again

Well done DM one neutral for Egypt. I hate them they're like Chelsea or Rafa's Liverpool.

Egypt all over Cameroon, Kameni playing an absolute blinder and being helped out by the woodwork, no doubt a late Cameroon goal will seal it.

:D

Really? I don't get that at all. They pass the ball much better than L'pool do for starters.

I just want to see some goals, not really bothered who wins :)

e2a: I do love Eto'o. He hasn't shown much in the last couple of games though.

I care who wins and don't want it to be Egypt but they look too young, organised and fit for Cameroon.

despite it being exciting typically in african football its still 0-0 and will finish on penalties. Nothing wrong with that though as its a good match atleast.

cameroon 0 egypt 1, terrible defending from Song gives the ball away, Zidan squares it to Abou Trika who stroke it home.

:D

edit: this referee is appalling
