Vast swarthes of Africa really are post-apocalyptic hell-holes mired in starvation, war, disease, exploitation and superstition. Isn't there a documentary on the BBC soon about children killed for being witches?

I take your point. Im not disputing it happens. But with war, famine, IDPs, chronic poverty being passed on from parent to child- THIS is the AFrican story the Telegraph chooses to run with?

Maybe next time Europeans are slaughtering each other in the Caucuses, The Daily Tanzanian can run a piece about the Fred West.

Phil: It is like this/ Albinos are considered to be symbols of good luck. So, if you cannot be born albino, what to do? The next best thing of course! When I did a thread I mentioned the incident where a 16 year old girl was eating supper with her parents when armed men entered the hut and stole her out. Usually they do not eat them but sell the body parts to wizards and shman who make concotions and then they are eaten, and the penises are worth a bundle, as talismen. Like a white rabbit's foot I guess.



Been to E. Africa a bit, even Tanzania where this is happening most but never knew of anything like this until year.
