Advice on employing a cleaner

Be careful of INSURANCE.........my english mates who clean(loyaly some have worked for the same people for over 10 years will not go up ladders or do balancing acts which could result in a fall. Ironing is extra unless she is Polish then they clean, iron, clean windows, cook, shop all for much cheaper and without any concerns for health and safety or insurance.

You should be covered for Liabilty insurance with your home contents insurance.

Also be careful what you leave lying around.......do you want others to see it?

Fuckwit.

Mine does 3 hours a week, its her minimum. She now does about 4 of my friends houses as well. But she has been a bit crap for the last few months, not turning up every week and shifting days around all the time so might have to get a new one. Pity cause she is the best one I have had and is trustworthy

Thanx for the comment. But as my mates are 'Ladies that do' they have noticed that the Polish ladies do a lot more work for a far cheaper rate. And no we dont waste time moaning aboutr it. Its just noted. My neighbour (85) has a polish cleaner and she whizzes round the house and does any job asked. Whereas some cleaners have rules and set prices for certain jobs.its just a fact, an observation. It used to be a 'bit on side' a 'bit of pin money' but the market has now been cornered. The tax man is on the look out coz it can be classed as tax evasion as well.

I'd clean your flat

We've just wooed our old cleaning lady back after a (not inconsiderable) gap.. we initially let her go because we decided she was crap :o

But it was a mistake - although we've not always been financially able to have afforded one for a little while - because at least she did something which was a damn site more than either myself or my husband did! :o

We pay her an hourly rate that's acceptable to all of us, and she also does my husbands ironing for £1 an item.

We're taking her kids to see "Wicked" for Christmas (fingers crossed)
