XL signed her, but in the US she's with Columbia, and even when you sign with an indy there's all kinds of crazy legal things that happen when you're dealing with the record industry at the level she's at. Licensing deals can be deadly , and unfavourable deals are often done in order to gain access to the mainstream networks. Refusal to sign deals can mean being effectively blacklisted and shut out - records shelved or not promoted etc.

The music industry bleeds big artists of their profits. Who knows what her manager has made out of her and all the other hangers on ?

I've never really watched her before but I really did enjoy that. She's so down to earth that performance wouldn't have looked out of place at Jean and Ernie's diamond wedding anniversary party. I've only ever heard good stories about her.
