Actors destined to always play baddies

You never saw Hamish Macbeth then?

Or the Full Monty?

;)

Yeah, I know he's a controversial choice!

lol not Alan Rickman, he was the Sheriff of Nottingham.

I'm talking about the really long-faced guy. He was one of the renegades/pirates in Alien Resurrection
Oh I know who you mean. Ron Perlman of Hellboy fame...

Looks like he could star in Planet of the Apes sans make-up...

Judge Dredd's one remake I would like to see, as the original did not do justice to the black humour of the comic at all. I can see it done Hellboy style (i mean in the sense of darkness and humour) and working quite well

Or that one about nicaragua directed by ken loach, or 28 weeks later....

I reckon carlyle is one of the least worthy of this thread (and sorry to break with tradition and disagree with Melinda). He's so versatile, and probably a bit underappreciated these days (even if around the time of Trainspotting he was possible over hyped up)

If you've seen him on Cracker though, you can never believe him in a nice role again.

yeah that was the first thing I saw him in I think. That was fucking amazing.

But what's incredible about him is his ability to play rather soft, sensitive characters pretty much just as well.

Oh good call!

ConAir- he was a bit rapey.

And, prior to his becoming an actor, Danny Trejo was a serial criminal serving about 15 years behind bars in various Californian prisons.

Since his last stretch he decided to mend his ways and now works on penal reform issues and encouraging youngsters to stay out of jail when he's not doing acting work.

Mainly due to their Hollywood preconception of looking like nutjobs, thugs, rapists or nonces.

Some notable examples that come to mind...

or Rufus Sewell of A Knight's Tale fame. Every time I see the poor sod on a film he plays a baddie.

Any other obvious examples?

Rufus Sewell isn't always a baddie. He was great in Dark City.

Klaus Kinski (looks especially crazy in "For a Few Dollars More" when his facial tic goes mad after Clint Eastwood strikes a match on his stubble)

I know he played Elrond in LOTR, but Hugo Weaving should totally be a bad guy. Like ALL the time. He just looks like he wants to crush someone o_O.
