a4e pulls Benefit Busters Episode 2 from On Demand and 4oD online

It's back on 4OD now. Anyone notice anything different between the original broadcast, and the current version they've got up now? Would still be nice to know what was going on behind the scenes over the last few days.
Someones face was blurred for like 2 seconds when she goes in the room to recruit people for agency work. The time when the guy wanted construction work.

The concealing identity is nonsense!

An entire scene was edited out of the 4oD #2 version when it should have only been to conceal someones identity.

There could be more edits. Let me know if anyone are aware of them.

I just watched that sequence again on 40d, i know exactly what part, and it has been removed.

Nice to know that in these tough times there are still some employers with integrity eh!

But he seemed like a good employee, why give him the boot? Did they learn about his prison time and think ill of him for not being upfront about it in the way they would have desired or something?

Having only seen the truncated version, what was in the bit they removed exactly?

e2a: never mind, the video is on the NDS website.

Which bit was edited out? Is this the unedited version? Was this bit cut from the re-edit? Or do you think that the only bit that should have been edited out was the tiny bit with the weedkiller man?

I thought it was really sad - being messed around by a4e, 'encouraged' into an agency job that only lasted a few weeks, and then having to go through the rigmarole of reclaiming benefits (the slate at the end said it took three weeks to reinstate his benefits and I wonder what on earth they were living on while that happened?) - ended up tearing that couple apart, they were arguing and it was all very fractious and causing tension and disagreement in their relationship. That was horrible. While they didn't split up on screen, I do wonder how much messing about their relationship might survive. If he was sent through a4e again and made to take another agency job that didn't last, signed off benefits, had to reclaim, left without money for a few weeks, the strain on a relationship would be enormous if that happens a few times and would struggle to endure it.

I thought it was really sad to see the impact on their relationship. :( It makes me really sad that the government and that a4e woman are just so focussed on targets and bureaucracy and don't seem to realise that it's people's lives that they are messing about with and fucking up. :(

Sums up my feelings on the whole thing.
The Government now only think of people as cannon fodder for rogue employers (or should that be agencies - i don't think there's any 'employers' left is there!)

all three programme endorsed many of the critics of these schemes cherry picking those most ready for work and people being pushed into unsuitable jobs .someone with depresion could be tip over the edge by this and cause a nervous breakdown which is not nice because i have been there

if people have been edited out since broadcast, it'll be for legal reasons, rather than anything sinister like

the scene that was removed was right after Mark reads his termination notice at home. His mrs points to a worker from Continental Landscapes working just down the road and he comments about it being unfair he got fired while the guy concerned looks 'about 90'.
