A vote for the BNP is not a protest vote … it’s a vote for fascism

This is now in the general forum and i will not post on politics in this forum as this is politcs and do not troll, or look to start trouble nor flame in the politics forums, as i have hopefully made clear in a recent PM. However i will respond to you before i log out.
I read the thread and the posts and posted my opinion accordingly. I have always found it funny how some people confuse the proposition of 'have you read the thread/post' with 'why have you not interpreted it the way i want you to'.
I find this whole attitude of 'have you read' highly insulting , are you familiar with the work of Paulo Freirei? I know people who have spent their lives arguing such attitudes, which were inherent IMO in the post i responded to and your post, do nothing but breed resentment, disengagment and ultimately political disempowerment. ( amongst working class people )
They have not or are not 'read' so they 'cannot understand' so we can 'invalidate any opinions they might have' and in doing so, invalidate them as people as they are 'not eloquent' as 'there opinion' has not been formed the way we wanted them to form it etc etc
IMO this attitude which i have commented on in context of the original OP and following posts is one of the insidous reasons some far right nutters will probably get elected next week.
Sorry Ed/Mods if this has broken rules and started people moaning etc as this was not my intention.
The BNP might use what you originally refered to in the above post that i have qouted as a means of propaganda but to say that newshamebore or the other parties do not have contempt for the working class as a whole and that working class people are not discriminated against is dangerous, devisive and insulting nonsense. Or maybe your think we all live in a classless society .....
So why is it that the BNP seems to be seen as an acceptable vote, either as a protest against the main parties, or because they ‘offer something the other parties don’t to the man in the street’ and ‘are prepared to talk about immigration’? What about the fact that the BNP advocate sending home anyone who has not got a white British heritage? What about the fact that the BNP is on record stating that the holocaust was not a deliberate genocide but more the fact that the Nazis’ shot 50 locals for every soldier killed and this makes up the c6m murdered in WWII? What about the fact that the BNP associate with the KKK in the USA, ultra-right groups from across Europe and neo-nazi groups closer to home?
What about the fact that beneath their suits and smile, beneath the hard work done for older people in their front gardens in target seats, beneath the local issues fought on, from planning applications to saving playing fields, the BNP are right wing fascists who think that people who have a different skin tone are second class and have no right to live here.
How do people who think the BNP is a valid protest vote, or ’speaks for them on issues’, sleep at night? How do they contemplate putting a cross in the box of a party that would send ‘home’ anyone who was of a different race in an effort to recreate a Britain of 1914?
Nick Griffin and the BNP praise the work of the Waffen SS in the Second World War, they associate with Nazis in Europe, they deny aspects of the holocaust, they campaign against Islam and Judaism and wrap themselves in the flag of our country pretending that they are fighting some apocalyptic battle to save Britain. They are really a party that beneath the veneer is a party of hatred and intolerance, feeding on people’s insecurities and fears to paint a picture of a land where the indigenous population are ’sacrificed’ by a government more interested in promoting foreign values. This is a myth and a lie.
In 1998 Nick Griffin said “I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that six million Jews were gassed and cremated and turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the Earth was flat … I have reached the conclusion that the ‘extermination’ tale is a mixture of Allied wartime propaganda, extremely profitable lie, and latter witch-hysteria”

In 1997 Nick Griffin produced Who are the Mindbenders? Adapted from a US Nazi publication of the same name, it claimed to prove that the minds of British people are brainwashed through Jewish control of the media. The booklet included a list of all known Jews working in the media as though they were working together for a joint cause. He claimed to prove Jewish control of the BBC by naming a mere 19 Jews who work for the corporation.
There are undoubtably debates that need to be have about immigration to a small island nation, these can be had without reference to colour or creed. It is common sense that there should be a debate with Europe over how those fleeing horror at home are looked after and settled in safety and it is important that we never erode the reputation of our country as a safe haven to those who flee terror and murder. It is not good enough that people are willing to consider voting BNP just because they feel that the debate on immigration has not been given airtime by the Far left and Anarchist, and like the rest of there Middle Class friends tell us the White Working Class it is racism to talk about such concerns.

Pretty piecemeal achievements against a background of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Each Labour govt has been successively more right wing ever since Atlee , its obssessed with the market and has no notion of the working class untill it comes to election time.Why do you think very few working class people get involved with New Labour?

Don't find anything really to disagree with all this but arguing don't vote for someone/something cos its racist isn't going to tackle those who are disengaged from New labour because they percieve non whites to somehow benefit more than white workers.
Its not just immigration, in fact the BNP are not going to build a cadre over immigration but a whole raft of policies. Look at their economic policy for example- its basically perceived as old Labour.
What political alternative are you proposing?
I have been as an anarchist saying vote green see http://theleftluggage.wordpress.com/2009/05/11/great-green-hope/ I have no illusions in saying this, but we need to build an anarchist working class movement moving on from issue 97 of Class War, who before then got the idea and feelings of the working class, have since along with The former Anarchist Communist Federation (good in it,s day) now Anarchist Federation have along with the far left lost any connection with The White Working Class and have gone round informing those who would liston to them, that to talk about immigration being a problem is racist see http://theleftluggage.wordpress.com/2009/05/29/moving-beyond-the-sect/ one of the better projects to come out in the last couple of years.

agreed, and this why we need to stay critcal of them..
and yes class war in some form alass rather fucking crass are still there, but nothing more than a drinking club so it seems from Sheffield at least?
that is a good point actually, so many intellectual movements don't know how to have fun.
