A thread all about Obama's failures as president

See what I said to Butchers ^.

For instance: Guantanamo Bay get rid. Nice one, he can safely say that because the only people who disagree with him on that are the hawks and loonies in the departing gov't. Israel is a lot more delicate and he wouldn't want to shoot his mouth off, I imagine.

Which is why I am holding out hope that he is lying. He needed the votes but now he's got them he'll weasel out of it and do something for the Palestinians for a change.

I just think I'm going to be disappointed.

He's not doing 'it' full stop. US foreign policy as regards Israel will continue as it has since 1967, as Lord Obama made clear to all who have ears pre-election. There's no intention to change policy at all.

Probably. Hopefully he'll think of something different to try. Any suggestions?

The disappointment and tarnished dreams of daft leftie liberals in the light of New Labour's reign is going to be a drop in the ocean compared to Obama's.

Silly muppets.

Although even though he is likely to be just as big a bomb-happy bastard as all that went before him, having a president that can read and write must be something of a relief.

I'm hoping that he is lying as well and that the reason he kept his mouth shut was because he didn't want to show the zionists how he really felt ...

somehow, i think i'm wrong though :(

Don't get excited. All they're going to do is release a few here and there. Then, keep a bunch in a hole someone else.

Today he was on my TV painting the walls of a homeless shelter. His technique was awful and he talked too much. I count that as a failure.

Well looks like Obama is going to push for the abolition of the 22nd ammendment. That will go down like a lead ballon in some circles both Dem and Repub if it gets passed.

What does that amendment say?

Is it the guns one or the free lube for naval servicemen one??

It's the 2 term limit for Presidents.

And no, I don't see him doing that. What incredible scaremongering: "OMG! The darkies want to take over the country....!"

The 22nd Amendment is the one that limits the number of terms in office a President can have.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

Disappointment: him not firmly and squarely putting the head honchoes of the financial services industry in the dock over the fact that their greed, myopia and recklessness have dumped the global economy - and with it, all of us - totally in the shitter.
It's not as if it could lose votes like criticizing Israel could do; those folk are right now slighly less popular than STDs

it looks like some loony is trying - not for the first time - to repeal the 22nd ammendment. last time he had a go, bush was in power...

H. J. Res. 5 is not the first attempt by Serrano to repeal the 22nd Amendment. In 2003, Serrano introduced H. J. Res. 11 to the 108th Congress to accomplish the same purpose. A similar resolution, H.J. Res. 25, was also proposed the same year and received co-sponsorship from a bipartisan group of six other representatives. In 1987, during Reagan's term of office, Earl Michener, R-Mich., also proposed a repeal of the 22nd Amendment.
